What do people think? Do you know any young Josephines? I quite like the nickname Josie as well but prefer the long version. Would welcome any other nickname suggestions too.

I know one Josephine in her 20s . I personally don't like it for a little one but I do like Josie, that's cute

hungryhippie · 08/08/2018 20:50

I dont know any but I think its a nice name. I prefer Josephine over Josie too.

Josephine82 · 08/08/2018 20:51

I really like it (for obvs reasons). Not my birth name which is Johanna but I got the nickname Josephine when I was in my early teens. I always found it very romantic.

Jollyholliday · 08/08/2018 20:52

I love Josephine! Beautiful and strong

DramaAlpaca · 08/08/2018 20:52

I think it's elegant & classy. Love it.

Peachbubble · 08/08/2018 21:13

I know 2 young Josephines. One aged 7 and the other is 10, both called by their full names, although the older one is sometimes called Josie. Another nn could be Posy.

daisypond · 08/08/2018 21:15

Yes, I really like it. The Josephine I know is known as Jodie.

Kraggle · 08/08/2018 21:15

I have a Josephine! She’s one and gets called Josie, Josiejo, Jose or her full name. Never met another.

Disfordarkchocolate · 08/08/2018 21:16

It's beautiful, I would use the full name all the time to show it off.

MrsBlondie · 08/08/2018 21:19

I love it

PennyGH · 08/08/2018 21:40

MikeUniformMike · 08/08/2018 21:45

I know a Josephine who is known as Jo. Very nice but for ages I thought she was Jo short for Joanne.

buttercup54321 · 08/08/2018 21:45

Makes for think of an old TV advert which says "Not tonight Josephine".
I don't like it personally but I like Joanna.

Petalflowers · 08/08/2018 21:48

Like Josephine and Josie. Jo is another obvious nickname, definantly due a revival.

QueenJulian · 08/08/2018 21:49

Love it!

RhubarbAndMustard · 08/08/2018 22:41

Sophronia · 08/08/2018 22:52

I like it. I’ve heard Sephie as a nn.

Appleandmango22 · 08/08/2018 23:08

Effie as a nn?

SophieofShepherdsBush · 08/08/2018 23:14

It's nice; will you pronounce it with a z or a soft s in the middle ? Dh and I pronounce Josephine quite differently from each other. Would this annoy you?

Picknickers · 08/08/2018 23:21

I like it very much. I knew one nn Fi
