Rayne

What do you all think of this name for a girl?

First heard it as Princess Diana's stepmothers name. Although spelled Raine.

Also any Nashville fans will recognise Rayna!

Thought the 'Raine' spelling would leave little one wide open for getting picked on potentially?

I just love the name. Any suggestions for best spellings?

The spelling Raine is nicer but dislike the name.

DailyFailAreTwats · 08/08/2018 11:54

Really don't like it. Whatever spelling you use will leave the child open to jokes. And it has a really whiny sound to me.

Armchairanarchist · 08/08/2018 12:04

Raine is my niece's middle name. I'm not keen.

ShotsFired · 08/08/2018 12:11

Initially it reminds me of the older East End Rene (I think - said "ree-nee").

But my second thought was that it was a youneek spelling of Rain.
And it's a lifetime of "no, raine with a e ... haha no, not like the wet stuff "

MrsRachel85 · 08/08/2018 12:13

I love it! Even though I’m huge Nashville fan, I prefer the spelling Raine

userabcname · 08/08/2018 12:20

I know a baby Raine. She is very cute. For that reason, I like it!

ZebraKid71 · 08/08/2018 13:51

Prefer Rayna.

Jammin3 · 08/08/2018 13:55

I wanted to use this for my last daughter but DH didnt like it as much. I was gutted!

RavenWings · 08/08/2018 14:06

I hate it.
I do like Rania or Raina though.

LoveInTokyo · 08/08/2018 17:56

Nope!

RobinEggs · 08/08/2018 17:58

It sounds a bit like a porn star/ stripper name to me.

LittleMissedTheSunshine · 08/08/2018 18:01

You do know Diana called her stepmother 'Acid Raine'?

GreatRailwayMaps · 08/08/2018 18:01

Reminds me of Raynes Park (south west London suburb). I'd spell it Rain!

Margaurette · 08/08/2018 19:01

I love Raine. It sounds elegant and it's interesting.

Yes there will be wet weather jokes, but I'm sure she'll think of a good comeback or three.

booniloo · 08/08/2018 19:54

Love it but prefer it spelled Raine.

MrSpock · 08/08/2018 20:11

Raina is much nicer.

MikeUniformMike · 08/08/2018 20:30

Acid Raine and Raine Raine Go away.
I think it's pretty but it makes me think of Lorraine and of precipitation.

Rmad6716 · 08/08/2018 21:31

Oh dear lol🙈 I may need to rethink this 😂

What about Lorraine?

DramaAlpaca · 08/08/2018 22:00

I don't like it at all. Sorry.

GimbleInTheWabe · 08/08/2018 22:00

It sounds a bit like a porn star/ stripper name to me.

Agreed, I'm afraid.

Cyclingpast · 08/08/2018 22:01

There's a place in Essex called Rayne.

MikeUniformMike · 08/08/2018 23:21

How about Harlow. Silent t optional.

Jammin3 · 09/08/2018 07:53

Why do people name shame porn stars and strippers? You know they are human right?

AuntieStella · 09/08/2018 07:56

I like the name Raine (knew one in RL) but don't take to Rayne (perhaps because it's a place name/tube station, Raynes Park)
