Too old man? We're set on Wilfred but really struggling for a middle name and he's arriving this week Blush.

Thoughts please!

I quite like Wilfred, lots of short version options too, Will, Wilf, Fred. What sort of surname do you have?

Icklepup · 07/08/2018 18:49

Wilfred Alexander
Wilfred Henry
Wilfred Leo

I wouldn't choose Walter with Wilfred. Bit of a mouthful and both very old man.

Henry

I love it, but then my DS has a very old man name. 😁 Walter was in my top 3 but was vetoed by DJ. Sad

cheshiremama89 · 07/08/2018 18:53

Wilfred Austin

oldbirdy · 07/08/2018 19:05

Walter is a bit "wet" when teamed with Wilfred.

I wouldn't.

Dljlr · 07/08/2018 19:07

Give him the option for something totally different just in case he wants to swap 'em around when he grows up. Wilfred Gary Grin

WeaselsRising · 07/08/2018 19:22

My FIL was Walter when it was reasonably fashionable and he hated it. Always known by a nickname. Use a more modern or classic middle name with Wilfred.

WatcherintheRye · 07/08/2018 19:33

How about Wilfred Walt?

I know Walt is short for Walter, but lots of shortened/familiar forms have become names in their own right now, and Walt sounds more...I dunno....edgy, than Walter!

MrsRachel85 · 07/08/2018 19:56

I love it! Also love the PP suggestion of Walt.

Singlenotsingle · 07/08/2018 19:59

Alexander, Henry and Leo are all nice names, much better than Wilfred. Use Wilfred as the middle name.

Emelene · 07/08/2018 20:06

I love Walter! It's on my shortlist!

DailyMailcanfuckthefuckoff · 07/08/2018 20:17

Are you giving birth to an 84-year old?

In the nicest possible way OP, please remember this kid is going to go to school, and kids can be very cruel. Could you not have Wilfred as the middle name?

Pinkgeorge · 07/08/2018 20:20

I like William Walter

HeyDolly · 07/08/2018 20:23

I like alliterative names but Wilfred Walter is too much of a tongue twisting mouthful for me and just seems a bit much.

Wilfred Owen
Wilfred Edgar
Wilfred Lawrence
Wilfred John

Quangot · 07/08/2018 20:38

Wilfred Walter is fine. Even better if swapped round, as Walter is more unusual than Wilfred/Freddie.

Wilfred Eric
Wilfred Alexander
Wilfred George
Wilfred Theodore
Wilfred Nathaniel
Wilfred John
Wilfred Mark
Wilfred Oliver
Wilfred Noah
Wilfred Peter
Wilfred Samuel
Wilfred Julian

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 07/08/2018 20:47

Wilfred Victor.

Singlenotsingle · 07/08/2018 20:57

Poor little Zowie Bowie changed his name to Duncan Jones. Hopefully poor little old Wilfrid awalter will change his name when he's old enough, but he's got a childhood to live through first Sad

HeyDolly · 07/08/2018 21:15

Oh FFS, Wilfred is hardly the same as Zowie Bowie. It’s a perfectly normal name which can be shortened to Wilf, Will or Fred.

campion · 07/08/2018 21:24

HeyDolly Wilfred Owen??

Seriously?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 07/08/2018 21:24

Really wet cartoon character. It’s not the time yet for a cool revival.

They are both too vintage for me, and I really don't like them together. Sorry.

WillowB · 07/08/2018 21:49

🙈 Please don't!
