Baby name change

I wanted to give me daughter two middle names as the second middle name was special to me. My OH gave me permission to use it but he wasn't massively fond of the idea because he liked her just having one middle name, so I decided not to. But I constantly regret not adding it in when we registered her!

When I tell people about the name they always say that I should have added it because it really completes her name!

I'm just wondering if there is anyway to change it on her birth certificate? Has anyone changed their child's name recently? How does it work?

Oh and she's only 12 weeks this Wednesday so I want to do it soon!

He gave you permission?

MiniSunshine · 06/08/2018 21:57

Yeah.. It's both of our child so I asked him.if it's was okay and he said no over and over again throughout the pregnancy. And then finally gave his permission to add it but he wasn't happy about it so I didn't because I wanted us both to love her name.

But now I've decided I don't really care if he doesn't love it and I've told him this evening that I'm gonna have it changed. He's said "fiiiine then" 😂😂😂

If she's only 12 weeks old I think you just go to the registrar. There might be a charge.

Hey love,
I’m thinking about doing the same so have looked into it. All you need to do is fill out a form and pay something like £40. It takes about a week for it to go through and you can change/add a name once in their first 12 months. Good luck. X
