Which do you prefer?

Elspeth nn Essie or Ethel

And

Ezra or Elias nn Eli

They’re all nice names. Not to my taste, but nice nonetheless.

I’m not a fan of Eli. Ezra is better.
Essie is the nn of an Esther I know, she’s a MONSTER, so Elspy, Effie or Ethel?

Ezra is gorgeous, the rest I'm not keen on at all.

Esther, Astrid, Hester?

Essie is what my eldest calls my Esther. My Esther is awesome though! (Might be biased lol)

Elspeth for a girl, although I don't like Essie as a nickname and Ethel is just a completely different name. If you want to call her Ethel, call her Ethel. (But I wouldn't, I'd call her Elspeth.)

Don't have any strong opinions about Elias vs Ezra.

Elspeth and Elias get my vote. Ezra is also fine though. Ethel on the other hand is awful.

Elspeth but I'd use Elsie as the short form. I know a lovely young Elspeth/Elsie who has really made me like the name.

Don't really like Ezra or Elias, but I think I slightly prefer Ezra.

Ezra's the only one I like. I really really don't like Ethel.

I'm not overly keen on the girls names , if I had to I'd choose Elspeth but only because of the NN you'd use. Sorry ! I loooove Effie like someone else suggested but don't know what that's a NN for.

I really like Elspeth.
Ethel has a similar vibe to Edith - both Anglo-Saxon-type names, but Edith has made a bit of a revival whereas Ethel hasn't. But I don't see why not.

Elias for the boy's name.

Elspbeth and Elias definitely. Appear to be only person on planet who cannot abide the name ezra. Not keen on Ethel.
