Is this too many "L" s?

First name Lucy.
Would like Laura as a middle name after my grandmother but think Lucy Laura sounds a bit harsh?
Would consider adding another middle name to soften it a bit? Any ideas or is it ok as it is?

I think it sounds fine. A middle name will be used so infrequently that it won’t become a thing.

enbh · 01/08/2018 11:15

I think it depends on how well it goes with your surname...if that's also am 'L' name it might sound a bit odd but Lucy Laura Smith for example sounds ok to me but Lucy Laura Lally would sound odd!!

GahWhatever · 01/08/2018 11:19

Middle names rarely get used so as long as you sdon't hyphenate it you'll be fine.

I know three sisters named Lyla, Lola and Lillia..now ThAT is too many Ls!

Jakeyblueblue · 01/08/2018 11:21

Surname is Buckland. Smile

It's fine OP. Middle names don't have to go with a first name and are often after someone dear to one of the parents. If you're unsure you could always add another name before Laura?

Lucy Rose Laura
Lucy Harriet Laura
Lucy Juliet Laura
Lucy Isobel Laura - type thing.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 01/08/2018 11:36

It's lovely OP ! 😄

Jakeyblueblue · 01/08/2018 11:36

Yes great duck, that's what I mean, wondering if it sounds better with another name in between?

I think it's lovely as it is :) don't add extra names just for the sake of it !

Sophronia · 01/08/2018 12:29

Lucy Laura sounds nice!

FlopsyRabbit89 · 01/08/2018 12:33

I think it's too clunky and doesn't really flow.
I think if you had Lucinda or Luciana nn Lucy, it'd flow much better!

NoLeslie · 01/08/2018 12:33

As long as your surname isn't Cool J.

In fact maybe add that as another name. Lucy Laura Cool J Grin

Tiptopj · 01/08/2018 12:36

Lucy Laura Buckland. I think it sounds lovely OP it's a happy sounding name.

Pemba · 01/08/2018 12:52

I think it sounds fine.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 01/08/2018 12:59

Lucy Laura Buckland does sound lovely OP. I think I'd keep it at that tbh.

MikeUniformMike · 01/08/2018 13:19

Don't lengthen Lucy. It is much nicer than Luciana and Lucinda.

PurpleBeachTowel · 01/08/2018 15:20

My friends daughter is Leila Lucilla and surname ends in LEE... never been a problem

TheHalfBloodPrincess · 01/08/2018 15:25

Ds2 has the same letter first, middle and surname. Everyone always says how good his name sounds.

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 01/08/2018 18:10

I thought you were going to mention my DD's name on seeing your thread title Op. Out of 7 letters 3 of them are Ls. Grin

But your two names are lovely. I think the name works just fine.

Knittedfairies · 01/08/2018 18:15

Lucy Laura Buckland sounds fine to me; unlikely you’ll hear both names together very often anyway. (If your daughter does a law degree, she may well be LLB LLB though😀)

MikeUniformMike · 01/08/2018 18:21

I think it's nice and Lucy Surname sounds and looks great.

ReservoirDogs · 01/08/2018 18:22

I was going to say the same as KnittedFairies

She'll be an LLB! (Bachelor of Law and Logic - ie. Law Degree)

GoingRogue · 01/08/2018 18:54

I know someone with EIGHT kids whose names all start with L ! Blush

zeebeedee · 01/08/2018 20:14

I know a Laura Lucy Surname, and it's fine.

Jakeyblueblue · 01/08/2018 20:18

Thanks all, actually much less worried now seen it written down so many times!
