Are these boys names too out there?

Here’s my current shortlist for DC3 (a boy). Would you know how to say these if you saw them written down, or spell them if you heard them? All opinions welcome, I’m not easily offended!

Ansel
Atticus
Augustus (Gus)
Orion
Orson

I adore the name Atticus!
Quite like Augustus too, but not keen on the others.
What about Achilleas or a bit too out there?

I've heard of all of them, except Alden - it is pronounced Awl-den or Ahl-den?

Really like Orson and Ansel (and agree with pp that Anselm is even better!) Prefer Angus, Fergus and Magnus to Augustus.

Augustus is my favourite of those, but that’s because I have a Gus. I also like Ansel.

Not a fan of Alden. It's the only one I think people might mispronounce- Al-den or All-den? Don't like surname names like Alden personally anyway. Orson is also a bit surnamey and a bit too trendy/faddy for me. Orion is gorgeous on paper- I considered it myself- but maybe less nice when spoken? Still like it a lot though. Augustus is a great name. I like the fact it's grand. Atticus is nice. Ansel is also quite nice.

How about Aldrin?

My nephew is called Alden after Neil Armstrong - it’s both their middle name. BiL works on space projects.

I’m loving the additional suggestions - I must look into whether Ansel is a brand of bum cream... that would be embarrassing!

Unfortunately, I am now only seeing Orion as Onion too ... thanks for that one!

The bum cream is Anusol. Doesn’t come to my mind on hearing the name Ansel!
