I would say Sim-oh-nee.

Cosmoa · 29/07/2018 17:46

Sim-oh-nee

NapQueen · 29/07/2018 17:47

Si(start of six) Mo Knee

chicola · 29/07/2018 17:47

What they all said.

ApolloandDaphne · 29/07/2018 17:49

I agree - Sim-oh-knee

Knittedfairies · 29/07/2018 17:50

As above.

Icklepup · 29/07/2018 17:50

Si-mo-nee

Icklepup · 29/07/2018 17:51

Sim-mo-nee*

lljkk · 29/07/2018 17:52

1st total guess...
See-moan-EE. Accent on last sylable or 2nd last sylable?
2nd guess
See MOAN-eeee--ay

I don't like guessing games with names, obs.

feral · 29/07/2018 17:53

Sim-on-knee

BlancheM · 29/07/2018 17:55

Simmony- sounds a bit like cinnamony though
The other sounds like 'so moany' umm...sorry!

BendydickCuminsnatch · 29/07/2018 17:56

Like Sidonie but with an M? So sim-OH-nee?

BendydickCuminsnatch · 29/07/2018 17:56

That’s just makes me think of Kevin Bacon saying ‘Sim-only’

pennycarbonara · 29/07/2018 18:12

If they do history to A-level or more it could feel like rather a strange name: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simony

Why not just Simone? That's a recognised name that people know how to pronounce.

Slydiad · 29/07/2018 18:23

I'd say it Simon-y, basically just the boy's name with an extra, unstressed syllable at the end.

HeavenIsNotAPlaceAtWork · 29/07/2018 19:50

Sim-Oh-nee

Joeybee · 29/07/2018 20:18

Sim-on-nee

ErrantBakedBean · 29/07/2018 21:28

Thanks all - you've confirmed what I wondered. I like the 'official' pronunciation of Simmony (SIH-mun-ee) but thought most would naturally say it as Simone-ee. Also I wondered if anyone would have heard of the other meaning of simony that pennycarbonara mentions or if it's not much known. Oh well. Shame as I think it's a pretty name!

I always ask the pronounciation.
However if I had to guess
. I'd say Sim.Oh-nee. Like Simone with a Y.
I like it. It's very pretty. However I can't get past Sim only.

Greenandcabbagelooking · 29/07/2018 21:51

Si moan ee

I have have a friend called Simone, but pronounced Sim o nay, rather than Si moan

IsTheRainEverComingBack · 29/07/2018 21:53

Yeh I’d say Sih-moh-nie, like Sidonie with an M

HeyDolly · 30/07/2018 08:16

Simone-ee
