Hi All, pregnant of my second girl and we cannot figure out the spelling of her name. Her big sis goes by Macy and we have the name lexi/lexxie for the second girl. What spelling do you like the most?

Lexie

hungryhippie · 24/07/2018 20:18

Lexi

NynaeveSedai · 24/07/2018 20:19

Lexie
Definitely not Lexxie why would you?

bumfloss · 24/07/2018 20:19

Lexi

Whatififall · 24/07/2018 20:20

Single x.

Candyflip · 24/07/2018 20:20

I think the more Xs the better. Lexxxie would be my top choice.

IKnowItsTIMHONKSTIMHONKS · 24/07/2018 20:20

Why not alexia or alexis with nickname lexi? Lexi to me reads like a juvenile nickname and she may not appreciate that when she's older. Think CVs and prejudiced potential employers.

roratone · 24/07/2018 20:23

Don't like either tbh. Lexi as a preference

RoboJesus · 24/07/2018 20:24

Alexis or Alexandria

Hogtini · 24/07/2018 20:26

The additional x is pointless. It doesn't add a different sound to the name just looks weird and a bit childish. Sorry.

poppyseed1663 · 24/07/2018 20:27

I would go for Alexandra on the birth certificate and shorten it to Lexi. Lexi is a Scottish shortening of Alexandra and would allow her a more formal name if she ever needed one.

ShootingQuadrantids · 24/07/2018 20:28

Alexandria shortened to Lexi. As someone else has said always think how a name will look to potential employers (l know that's a long way off at the moment). Obviously you've got to love the name but that's what I did fwiw.

ShootingQuadrantids · 24/07/2018 20:29

Or Alexander shortened to Lexi?!

ShootingQuadrantids · 24/07/2018 20:31

Sorry Alexandra not Alexander 🙄

HeyDolly · 24/07/2018 20:31

Lexi rather than Lexxie. The second spelling is awful.

Though Lexie seems to be the most widely used spelling of it so I’d go with that if you really want to use that name.

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 24/07/2018 20:32

It's Lexi

The others just look like spelling errors

emmajameson · 24/07/2018 20:38

I like the spelling Lexie 💖 however out of them two Lexi 😍

falaffels · 24/07/2018 20:48

If you really want Lexxie, go with Alexa/ Alexandra as others have said and shorten it.

Not just for CVs, but imagine her spelling it over the phone in years to come 'yes, that is two Xs' - it will always sound like a mistake.

ZebraKid71 · 24/07/2018 22:03

The one with double x looks like a teenager's snap chat username. Id go lexie.

Like pp suggestions of it as a nn for alexia/alexis/Alexandra.

Glumglowworm · 24/07/2018 22:07

The double x is like something a twelve year old would choose

Lexie would be my choice, I’d probably use Alexis or something and have Lexie as a nickname but I do really like it

Treaclepie19 · 24/07/2018 22:44

Lexi

IsTheRainEverComingBack · 24/07/2018 22:46

There’s never any need for two x’s. Don’t do that.

Lexie is nicest, what will it be short for?

camberskank · 24/07/2018 22:55

Lexi or Lexie. The extra x is a bit unnecessary and she'll be sick of people spelling her name wrong all the time! Cute name.

Congrats on your pregnancy. Best of luck! Flowers

MikeUniformMike · 24/07/2018 23:32

You are pregnant with not of.
Lexi. Not keen but if you love it... Lexxie has too many xs.

Joeybee · 24/07/2018 23:42

Lexi...that's the spelling people would guess at when they hear this name. Any other spelling and she'll have to spell out her name all the time, which is really annoying (trust me!).
