Middle name for Arthur?

Found out today we are having a little boy! We have known for ages that if it was a boy he would be called Arthur, but we're struggling to find a middle name we like enough.

Currently on the list are:

Arthur Billy
Arthur Dylan
Arthur Joe

I like Arthur Jude but DP has vetoed, we've vetoed so many others due to friends/family being called that (Sam, Theo, Wilfred, etc) and although I love William/George etc Arthur is quite formal so I wanted something slightly more relaxed for a middle name. Surname is 2 syllables and ends in 'in' so Robin, my other fave, is out!

Any ideas please? Thank you!

I don't like Billy or Joe as they are diminutives and I have an irrational hatred of diminutives as middle names.

Arthur River
Arthur Beau
Arthur Lionel
Arthur Xavier

I like Arthur Joe, but Arthur John is a good solid name.

Arthur George -I'm came straight to mind. Lovely choice

FireAndRain45 · 21/07/2018 19:29

I like Finley and Noah! William is lovely but it just sounds a bit too formal for us when matched with Arthur. Not keen on John as I knew a horrible one at school Grin

Billy and Joe look unfinished somehow.
William and Joseph would be better imo.

I think it would sound better with a middle name of one syllable
