I love it too. I would worry that everyone would shorten it but it's lovely as it is.

I like it too, but agree it has potential for far too many different shortenings- fine if you're not that bothered about developing nicknames later on.

The Evangeline I know is an Evie. Named due to the popularity of Lost- Evangeline Lilley

I like it but I’d worry that it would be shortened to Evie and so a lovely name becomes a bland, boring, overused nn.

I hate it, sorry. I think it's so ugly and clunky. Eva is so much nicer.

Plus, it's 4 syllables, so no kid will use the full name through school. It will inevitably become Evie - this is the case for all three Evangelines I've met. In which case you might as well just call her Eve/Eva.

It also makes me think of the word evangelical, which isn't a positive connotation.

It's too long and will end up being Evie.
Evie is nice but Eva isn't.

I'm not keen on it, but if it helps I know an adult Evangeline who is always known as Evangeline. She never shortens it and neither do any of her friends.

It's my favourite and my husband doesn't like it but he doesn't have good taste. Cute child / sophisticated adult.
