Short edgy girls names?

So I am due in two weeks and still struggling to decide on a name for our baby girl. We both like short names and so far we like either indie or coco... what’s everyone’s thoughts on these names? Also any suggestions are welcome! Thank you!

I know a Bibi!

What about Florrie
Jade
Zara
Uela
Juno (my cats name!)

The shorter names from our list were:

Cleo
Nancy
Blythe
Flora
Clara
Juno

Not sure about edgy though...

I always wanted to name a girl Biba. I loved that shop.

I’m confused by the ‘edgy’ part, is Coco edgy? I thought it was more cutesy? And although it’s not common like Olivia (shudder) I do know a couple.

Although Effie doesn’t sound edgy I suppose, but I always think it is because of Skins. Hmm.

I worked abroad years ago in China teaching English and they all chose nicknames such as echo, rainbow, shadow, all really randome!!

Also, "Cleo" as in cleopatra coming at ya if you remember early 90's pop! Cringeworthy!

Just think these poor babies need this name for life and being called something ridiculous like echo will stay with them forever.

I agree Rae is becoming the new Mae - it is everywhere right now!

@LadyMonicaBaddingham Smile Barbara is neither short nor cool...nor is "Babs"

GahWhatever · 27/07/2018 15:43

Juno is lovely and no more likely to be shortened to June than Coco is to Coke or Indie is to Ind.
Your SO is a bit bonkers Grin
Ah pick what you like OP. Life is just too short. You refer to SO rather than partner which suggests you are in the US anyway, so any opinions on this board (UK) are likely to be out of step.

PinkFlamingo888 · 27/07/2018 16:00

I really really love Coco for a little girl but I personally would want to give a longer name and use Coco as the nickname but I’ve never been able to find a name I like enough to shorten to Coco

Itsear · 27/07/2018 16:26

I know a lot of cats called coco 🐈. Definitely prefer it on a cat than a human, but it is a sweet name.

Coco and Indie are a bit twee and have been ‘done’. If you want edgy, I would look at mid century names like Marjorie, Jane, Marion, Hilary, Anne, Judith, Elaine. You don’t get many of them to the pound in primary schools these days.

LoveInTokyo · 28/07/2018 01:31

I like Ida and Cleo and Juno.

I heard of Zalie recently. Only saw it written down but I would pronounce it to rhyme with Hayley.
