So my friend has just announced his baby's name on Facebook, Rocco Red. Am I the only one who thinks she's bonkers?

Well if your friend reads this I'm guessing she'll know it's about her! 😂

Cutyourshakehole · 10/07/2018 22:28

Sounds like a wrestler

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 10/07/2018 22:29

There a Rocco in my daughters class and I like it. He’s a lovely little boy and it totally suits him.

topcat2014 · 10/07/2018 22:30

Do they own a chain of hotels Forte

pennycarbonara · 10/07/2018 22:30

Very, um, celebby, not my sort of thing at all but it does seem to be increasingly popular names.darkgreener.com/#rocco

Dljlr · 10/07/2018 22:31

Love it! Though it does make me say "hello heifer" in my head (anyone else remember Rocco's Modern Life?!)

ZebraKid71 · 10/07/2018 23:53

I know three baby roccos. It's really not my thing.

Frenchcroissant · 10/07/2018 23:56

To be honest I didn't know it was that popular, never heard it before apart from the Italian porn star....

OP posts:
Amalfimamma · 11/07/2018 00:05

It's not that popular in Italy either. I know about 20 Roccos, all over 30 and called after their grandfather

RavenWings · 11/07/2018 00:08

I was just thinking it sounded like a wrestler or porn star. Didn't know there was one actually called that Grin

Even aside from that I think it's dreadful.

Icklepup · 11/07/2018 04:03

Makes me think of the dog food.
And I dislike it.

Cosmoa · 11/07/2018 04:50

I really like it actually 😊

HJL2506 · 11/07/2018 05:58

I think it's really quite cool!

It sounds one of the names I'd never be barave enough to use at all though!

Plus on honeymoon in Malaysia, the owners Golden Retriever was called Rocco!

HJL2506 · 11/07/2018 05:59

Brave^

HJL2506 · 11/07/2018 05:59

Also I'm sure Madonna's son is called Rocco?

MikeUniformMike · 11/07/2018 10:08

Rocco Red sounds like a name that Jamie and Jools Oliver would call their son.

LeeMiller · 11/07/2018 10:11

I just think of Rocco Siffredi (the 'Italian stallion') and Madonna's son, both of which put me off. It also seems a strange choice unless they have Italian heritage, although living in central Italy I've never actually met a Rocco.

Frenchcroissant · 11/07/2018 14:14

They don't have any Italian heritage, only Scottish. And why did they chose a colour as middle name? It baffles me.

I quite like Red as a name, as in Red Adair. I've heard of a Ruby Red too. It's a bit twee.
Red Adair is a known as name his real first names are Paul Neal.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 11/07/2018 14:52

Red is cool! 😎
I like Rocco too.

DiegoMadonna · 11/07/2018 16:54

The two names together is pretty strange.

But I quite like Rocco on its own.

Mammaof · 11/07/2018 16:56

Oh I love it! Although my dd has an unusual name so I'm not the best person to judge Grin

flissfloss65 · 11/07/2018 16:59

I really like Rocco. I now a 40 year old French Rocco and an 18 year old English one. Never thought it an odd name.

Rocco Red is a bit OTT.

Strokethefurrywall · 11/07/2018 17:09

My cousin's little boy is Rocco - he's awesome. My cousin is a boxer though.

NotMaryWhitehouse · 11/07/2018 18:51
