We had decided on Sophie for a name and my OH has just told me it is an ex girlfriends name!!!! Wtf! He tried to justify it saying it was a daft under 16 relationship but I'm still raging!!

We could not have called DS, Stephen, Pete , Dan, James, Joe, Max, John, Hal, Rhys, etc except we did call him one of those names and I had not until now even remembered I had a boyfriend when I was 18 called it. I have just told DH who said 'MMMM' as he was reading on his ipad. Totally unbothered.

C'mon OP you can still call your baby Sophie. Under 16s relationship is nothing unless you end up together

I agree with DelphiniumBlue. Perhaps the only solution is to give the baby a yoonique name. Furious perhaps. or Notmydadsexgirlfriendsname.

I love the name Sophie. Couldn’t care less if dp had a teenage love of the same name.

My first "boyfriend's" name was probably Benedict... But I'm honestly not sure. And I'd still use the name... (Just like I'd still use the name of my childhood "fiancé")
