Currently torn between these names. Which do you prefer?

Rosalind (nn Rosie / Roz)
Jocelyn (nn Josie / Joss)

Rosalind nn Ros. By miles.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 09/07/2018 22:52

I love Rosalind, but I also really like Jocelyn. I know a little Jocelyn but no Rosalinds so it may be slightly less popular.

Chuckle2 · 09/07/2018 23:46

Rosalind

Aprilshouldhavebeenmyname · 09/07/2018 23:52

Dd's friend is Josslyn.

AdaColeman · 09/07/2018 23:58

Both lovely, but I'd pick Jocelyn because Rosalind may well be shortened to Rose, Roz etc, and these are already hugely popular, so Jocelyn gets my vote as it's a little bit more unusual.

Rosalind

I prefer the long name of Rosalind but dislike Roz. Do like Joss a lot though, so no clear winner!

Raines100 · 10/07/2018 00:04

Rosalind

Rosalind - it was in the back of my mind to use for my DDs.

Peachbubble · 10/07/2018 06:45

Rosalind, definitely. I know a 5 year old Rosalind. Not keen on Roz though. Really not keen on Jocelyn personally.

sukiduki · 10/07/2018 07:38

@SleepWarrior this is exactly my dilemma. I think Rosalind is really pretty but not overly keen on Roz/Ros, which she will inevitably get called at school. Not quite so keen on Jocelyn (not sure why) but LOVE the Jos shortening.

Shorten Rosalind to Rosa. Much better than Roz in mu view

kaytee87 · 10/07/2018 07:48

Rosalind or Rosalie shortened to Rosa

Frogscotch7 · 10/07/2018 07:52

They are both very pretty but I prefer Jocelyn.

Lotsofdigestives · 10/07/2018 07:56

Jocelyn.

RiverTam · 10/07/2018 07:58

She won’t necessarily get called that, I was at school with a number of people who only and always went by their full name.

Rosalind. Or Rosamund,

Wassat · 10/07/2018 08:01

Rosalind shortened to rozzy is beautiful disclaimer- I have one, she is fab Smile

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 10/07/2018 08:20

Rosalind (Rosie).

Sophronia · 10/07/2018 08:26

Rosalind

Carolwithane · 10/07/2018 08:28

Jocelyn - love it

MikeUniformMike · 10/07/2018 14:15

Both nice, but Rosalind is gorgeous.

SumAndSubstance · 10/07/2018 19:48

I went to a naice girls school in the 90s and there were three Rosalinds in my quite small year group. They were all unpleasant. For that reason I would go Jocelyn. There were none of them!

17caterpillars1mouse · 10/07/2018 19:53

Love both. Can't decide

ZebraKid71 · 10/07/2018 23:58

I prefer the sound of jocelyn, but I don't like the look of it written down. Joss is fab, could it be short for something else?
