The name Nancy

Does anyone have or know of a baby called Nancy? We love the name but people keep saying it’s “old”.

Oh it’s a lovely name. I know one Nancy, she is about 8 and super cool.

My next door neighbour is called Nancy. She's about 80. I'm a teacher and I've not come across a Nancy yet. I don't think it's one of the old fashioned names that have come back yet, sorry!

I know a young Nancy (age three). It might depend where you are in the country? It always makes me think of Oliver Twist.

yes I know a couple, a 5 year old and a 12 year old.

I absolutely love it. To me, it's the perfect name. I've yet to use it for a couple of reasons, but it's been my favourite for years.

I know two little Nancys - it's slowly becoming more popular, but not widespread at all.

As a kid I never met another Nancy but I have noticed there are more children called or now

David and Samantha Cameron's daughter is called Nancy.

I don't know a real life Nancy, but it makes me think of Nancy Blackett from Swallows and Amazons who is an excellent role model.

I think it's a lovely name.
Is it not a derivative of Anne? Anne -> Nan -> Nancy

We have a 15 month old Nancy, but she was named for a grandparent. She is super cute, but i'm biased.

Take no notice ! Nancy is a lovely name! I remember when I met a 2 year old Muriel, before the current fashion for "older" names. At first I didn't like it. By the end of that day, I loved it! People will associate Nancy with a lovely little girl, and will love it!

I know three, age 11, 3 and 2. Suits all of them!

pineapple is wrong, I'm a secondary teacher and Nancy is starting to trickle through.

DS2 would have been Nancy if he was a girl, love it.

My friend has a 3 year old called Nancy

I know quite a few Nancys actually ranging in age from 11 to 4

Nancy is definitely having a comeback - I know quite a few lately and it was on my list too.

Lovely name! It is definitely rising in popularity.
I would have liked to use it but it is my late Aunt's name. She died over 40yrs ago (would have been in her mid-80s now) when my cousins were still children and I know they would have really struggled with me using it.

I love it. Also makes me think of Nancy in Oliver. Belongs to a sassy, big hearted gutsy kind of gal xx

My grandmother was Nancy.
She was actually Annie Marguerite, but nicknamed Nancy. Love it!
