Sounds like Pelican

Cousinit · 09/07/2018 03:02

I've never heard of that name before. What's its origin?

Candyflip · 09/07/2018 03:04

How is that pronounced? Where is it from?

HuzzyBear · 09/07/2018 03:08

It's a Turkish name, said how it looks. DP is Turkish and I'm 1/4 Turkish.

I like it. I'm assuming it's a girl's name?

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 09/07/2018 03:23

I could warm to it, yeah! Unisex?

sycamore54321 · 09/07/2018 03:26

Rhymes with Melon with the accent on the first syllable? Or more like Pel-Een with stress on the second?

It looks nice written down. What dos it mean?

Candyflip · 09/07/2018 05:22

It means wormwood, I don’t particularly like it, but it isn’t up to me. There are some beautiful Turkish names though so you are spoilt for choice.

I know a lovely woman called Pelin, she is Turkish. It would be an odd choice if you were not Turkish as the word Pelican jumps out but as you are then why not! I can think of s few nice girls name alternatives in Turkish though- do you have any other options?

Loopytiles · 09/07/2018 05:50

Pelican

Notso · 09/07/2018 06:10

...said how it looks
It doesn't look obvious to me. I first thought was like peeling without the g, but that doesn't sound very pleasant. So is it more like Helen with a P not H?

lolalotta · 09/07/2018 06:14

I wouldn't.
