Morven or Maeve

I've used this forum before and found it incredibly useful so I've returned for more advice.

Do you prefer Morven or Maeve? Their sibling is called Saoirse. We live in Scotland.

I have some celtic alternatives that I think are just as nice as Morven.
Morwen (Welsh pronounced MORR-wenn)
Morwenna (Cornish - Mor-WENNa)
Morgane (Breton - More-gahn)
A similar name Morfydd is also nice. It's Welsh and pronounce MORR-vith (vith to rhyme with with)

Both are lovely.
Maeve is more common here in Ireland, I don't know about Scotland, but that would make me lean more towards Morven

I think Morven sounds a bit witchy. Prefer Maeve.

I'm in Scotland and the Maeve I know is 13, really cool and tough as anything, she's a Tae Kwon Do champ. All the girls want to be her! So to me it's a badass name!

Got so excited reading this, my mum's name is Morven and we've only ever met on another haha! Her only annoyance with her name is that although she is Scottish we live in England where most people mis-hear it as Morgan or don't seem to believe it's a real name!

Maeve gets my vote!

Morven definitely has a witchy feel to it, and very serious for a little girl.

Also how are you pronouncing it? More-ven or More-when. I've heard both used in England.

My vote is for Maeve. Love that name and I think it goes very well with saoirse x
