Stuck for boys names

Can anyone help with boy name suggestions?

Have one DS already named Kit (short for Christopher). This was the only boys name both DH and I liked last time. Struggling to come up with any additional names we really like for our list.

I don't personally like a lot of the modern American-ish names you see about (Blake, Riley, Tyler, etc), or anything very different (Atlas, River, etc) and neither does DH. There are a few more traditional names I like (James, William, and Daniel in particular) but for various reasons we don't feel we can use these.

My current list looks like this (but I'm not 100% smitten with any and DH doesn't like many... if any!):

Joseph
Henry
Ira
Finn
Nicolas
Arthur
Felix
Hugo
Robin
Eben
Jack
Amos

With Kit and Felix you'd have quite a feline theme going! I love both names though.

Also love Henry, Arthur and Hugo.

What about Luke, Bryn, Tobias/Toby, Hamish, William, Wilbur?

HJL2506 · 07/07/2018 12:45

I love Arthur from your list. My boys middle name.

I love Nicolas though would spell it with a h. It's a classic but quite uncommon and I like Nicky as an occassional nn

Also really like Amos

I love the name Andrew. Traditional and solid 😀

Honeybee79 · 07/07/2018 15:35

Jonathan/Jon or Jonny

All in the same vein as Christopher/Kit.

Wow, thank you for all the suggestions. And for pointing out names on the list that you all like too.
I like the idea of Nico as a shortening of Nicolas / Nicholas.
I adore the name Wilbur but DH doesn't, plus I know a Wilbur born v.close to Kit and I would feel like copying, IYSWIM?
Bryn is a lovely name too, will suggest DH.
I like Rupert, although not sure how it would shorten (not that it needs to but I like longer names with nice short versions)?
Nice to see Amos getting some love too, it's one of my faves (and DH likes I think), but worried it's a bit "weird".

How about Gabriel or Dominic?

ButterflyOfFreedom · 07/07/2018 21:00

I'd go for a longer name with cool nickname like you have with DS1.

Nathaniel / Nate
Theodore / Theo
Abraham / Bram
Sebastian/ Seb
Frederick/ Fred
Alexander/ Alex
Zachary / Zac
Benedict / Ben
Indiana / Indy
Rafferty/ Rafa

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 07/07/2018 21:39

How about Benedict (Ned) ?
