Fifi works for Sophie.

TatianaLarina · 06/07/2018 12:39

She’ll get called Soph by her school friends. You can call her whatever you like at home.

Your baby, your choice.
Fifi works perfectly with Sophie, better than Sophia IMO Smile

Cbeebiesrehab · 06/07/2018 12:54

She won’t get called Soph if she refers to herself Fifi.

daisypond · 06/07/2018 12:56

Fifi works as a nn for Sophie, thought it might not last into the primary school years - ie, she might outgrow it.

TatianaLarina · 06/07/2018 13:13

She will be known at school as Sophie and if her friends want to shorten that to Soph they will.

Plus Fifi is not a name many would own to past the age of 8.

Cbeebiesrehab · 06/07/2018 13:23

My name is Gabriella but I’ve always been known as Ella not Gabby. My friends have always called me the nickname I’ve asked them too. Teachers in school called me Ella too.

Cbeebiesrehab · 06/07/2018 13:24

I agree that at Primary school age Fifi may seem a bit childish for her though.

MissMoodyMoo · 06/07/2018 13:26

I think fifi will be used as a pet name rather than an all the time Nick name, When people ask her name she would always be Sophie x

Haha! Hate is a strong feeling to have for a name that is so close to the one you have chosen.

I know a 40something year old called Fifi - hers is short for Fiona, but there's no reason it wouldn't work for Sophie through primary school and beyond
