How do you pronounce this?

DH was a big fan of Warhammer as a teenager and has just found his old books at his parents house during a clear out. He's decided he likes the name Ellaria for our baby. I'm not 100% against it.

However, how would you pronounce it? How would you spell it? What do you think? Have the hormones and lack of decision making stress finally gone to my head?

Ellaria (eh-lehr-ree-ah) or (eh-la-ree-ah)?

Are there variations of the spelling? Is this a real name? I'm loving Aria as a nn.

I'd say Eh-LAH-ree-ah , it's a lovely name.

I guess I would pronounce it as Malaria.... just without the M

I would read it as Ell-ah-ree-a.

It’s also a name in Game of Thrones (just in case that would put you off). I think it’s a gorgeous name!

It makes me think of Game of Thrones too! She's a pretty kick ass character, played Indira Varma in the Tv show. I'd say Ell-arr-tee-yah.

I'd suggest quite a simple, maybe monosyllabic middle name. Ellaria Grace, or Ellaria Maud, maybe.

Definitely first thought of Ellaria Sand too but she's such a great character. My love of Game of Thrones knows no bounds.

Ell-ah-ree-yah is how I first read it. But I prefer the way you would pronounce it with the end making an 'Aria' sound rather than 'a ria'
