Fletcher is transferred surname, and one that will remain unusual because of close similarity to 'letcher'

I like Noah

Romeo always makes me think of the distinctive/memorable intro to 'Under The Moon of Love' as the drummer was Romeo Challenger

17caterpillars1mouse · 30/06/2018 06:58

Fletcher. Love the nn Fletch.

I like Noah but there are so many of them.

I would hate to be called Romeo and can't imagine any 14 year old lad would like it especially as Juliet has had a rise in popularity so it's a real possibility there could be one in his class

likeacrow · 30/06/2018 06:59

Romeo makes me think of So Solid Crew.

speakout · 30/06/2018 07:04

Noah is so common at the moment- there will be classrooms full of Noahs in a few years time.

Fletcher was one of the prison inmates in Porridge- an 80s sitcom, that was the first thing that sprung to mind.

Romeo- Beckhams.

So none of them really.

afreshnewname · 30/06/2018 07:05

It's a good job I'm not precious about these things considering some people's opinions on here 😂
My youngest is called fletcher, I love it, never met another until someone in work named their little boy the same about a year after we had ours.
I get loads of comments bout his name, luckily nobody has told me to my face it's awful/horrid and whatever else it's been called on this thread Hmm

Tooohot · 30/06/2018 07:09

Fletcher - Porridge
Noah - ok
Romeo - always loved it even before the Beckhams used it but probably not brave enough to use it, also know a naughty one

JuliaPatricia · 30/06/2018 07:40

Oh dear! Was not expecting people to hate them so much Blush the only other names we like are Bradley and Harry.

Just go with Noah. You cannot go wrong with a strong classic name. There’s a reason they’re popular.

JessambardKingdomBrunel · 30/06/2018 08:49

Fletcher is awful - with "letch" right in the middle.

Romeo is just silly. It's the sort of name that only celebrities could give their child. And other kid will get bullied mercilessly for it.

Noah is fine - use Noah.

Notquiteagandt · 30/06/2018 09:17

You cant use romeo if your name in real life is julia.

When you go to baby groups etc or play days youll be introduced as "Romeo and Julia"

TatianaLarina · 30/06/2018 09:25

Noah or Roman (don’t like Romeo).

timeistight · 30/06/2018 09:26

Fletcher Christian comes to mind ...

Of those three it would have to be Noah,

QueenJulian · 30/06/2018 09:29

I love Fletcher. Very cool. I’m neutral about Noah, it’s perfectly fine but a bit dull. I really don’t like Romeo. Harry is a good name imo so i’d go Fletcher if you want something a bit different or Harry.

tinykirst · 30/06/2018 09:43

I like Fletcher!

Noah is nice but becoming too popular now.

And Romeo just makes me think of 90s boy bands ..

Icklepup · 30/06/2018 11:29

I'd go with Harry
Flecter, Noah and Romeo are awful.

Aragog · 30/06/2018 11:34

Noah

File Cher feels like a surname to me, and I don't like Romeo as a name.

Aragog · 30/06/2018 11:34

File Cher!?! Fletcher even

Aragog · 30/06/2018 11:37

Or from the new two options: Harry

bluemoonchances · 30/06/2018 11:38

Totally biased but I know a little Harry and he's gorgeous so I like that one!

WardrobeUser · 30/06/2018 11:45

Love the name Fletcher, if we'd have had a boy we'd have gone with Fletcher.

BlackBeltInChildWrangling · 30/06/2018 11:50

It's very personal OP, and it just depends on what fits with your last name and life really. The haters gonna hate Wink

Mum of boys here, and fresh from success on another baby name thread. Smile I would probably avoid Harry and Noah if there are so many now - both less common when I was naming mine, especially Noah. I personally don't particularly like Bradley or Romeo. From your list, I'd choose Fletcher. It's a bit different but not too 'out there'. I also like Sonny - a reminder of the glorious weather when he came into the world?

Congratulations OP. Hoping you and your DS are doing well, and wishing your family the best of luck for a happy and healthy future. Flowers

Lefroy · 30/06/2018 11:51

Isn't a fletcher someone who makes arrows?

ApocalypseNowt · 30/06/2018 11:55

Noah is inoffensive but boring. If you're going to take 15 days to name your baby you can't call him Noah at the end of it. It sounds like you gave up.

Fletcher and Romeo are both cool. Prefer Fletcher though!

DiegoMadonna · 30/06/2018 12:18

Noah

Stickerrocks · 30/06/2018 22:54

My DN is called Fletcher. He is one of the kindest lads I know.

I can hear the sniggers in school as soon as they have to read Romeo & Juliet and they have a real life Romeo. It's cute until the child is 3 or 4 and then fails the Serious Career test.

Noah was unusual a few years ago, now they are everywhere.
