Posting out of sheer curiosity to other people's opinions after a chat with a friend earlier.

Would you say the name Daryl / Darryl isale or female?

It's too close to Darren to be female.

Isn't it unisex? But I'd say from how to sounds I see it as more masculine probably because it reminds me of Darren

I know one of each. Daryl and Darylle. Think Daryl Hannah is most definitely female!

It sounds more like a boys name to me. However I've only ever known of old ladies with this name.
That's why I wouldn't use it, it's a pretty ugly name. I can only imagine it on a chavvy lad or an old lady.

Genuinely unisex, but have never known a male one and also brought up on Mallory Towers 😁

I know 2 women called that though one is Daryl and the other Darrell. Both in their late 40s/ early 50s.
