My dn is called will. I am pregnant and really like the name wilf - is it too similar to will? I think it is, dh thinks it isn't.

I think it is too close, sorry. They'll never be sure which one of them you were calling from their bedroom!

preggersteach · 24/06/2018 22:46

My thoughts exactly!

Too close, yes.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 25/06/2018 09:45

It is similar but as it's your dn that's called Will I don't think it matters that much.

It depends on how often you see Will? And how much you love Wilf.. do you have any other names you really like?

MikeUniformMike · 25/06/2018 10:00

It's fine.

NataliaOsipova · 25/06/2018 10:03

If you were talking about your first child being Will, then I'd say Wilf is too similar. But for cousins? It's absolutely fine. Presumably Will is actually William? In which case it's very easy for grandparents to differentiate etc.

SpongeBobGrannyPants · 25/06/2018 21:07

Oh wait, I thought it was your DS. Sorry! If it's DN, totally fine!

dancingunicorns123 · 26/06/2018 10:33

My DH is will and we are calling DS Wilf x

Glumglowworm · 26/06/2018 12:00

If they’re going to be cousins that hardly see each other it’s fine. If they’re going to see each other all the time then it’s too similar

Patal · 27/06/2018 19:08

It’s fine, go for it

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 27/06/2018 19:09

Too close.

buttercup54321 · 27/06/2018 22:28

Too similar.

BrutusMcDogface · 27/06/2018 22:30

What is it with the name wilf suddenly becoming popular? It's awful.

Anyway, would he be Wilfred? That's different enough to will or William imo.

EstrellaDamn · 27/06/2018 22:34

I think it's fine for cousins but Wilf is absolutely bloody dreadful.

Have you seen how cute new tiny babies are, so beautiful and precious and kissable? How can anybody see a newborn and go 'yep, he's definitely a Wilf. Confused
