I was just reading about the wedding of Princess Diana's niece who is called Celia. That's a name you don't hear very often anymore. What do people think of it? I quite like it and also like Cecilia.

Celia is nice. Cecelia is fabulous.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 20/06/2018 10:38

I like it and considered it for DD2. It wouldn't have suited her. She has lovely features but she is a stern little bruiser and is much better as a Harriet Grin

daisypond · 20/06/2018 11:16

Yes, I like it, and Cecilia as well. It seems to get mentioned quite a lot on here, though I don't know any in real life.

One of my first cousins is called Celia. I also have a first cousin called Delia. I don’t like either name much, though I like both my cousins.

IsadoraQuagmire · 20/06/2018 12:32

I love it (Celia Johnson is one of my favourite actresses, so I always think of her first, although I do know 2 girls named Celia)
I also have an Aunt Cecilia (known as Cis)

mydietstartsmonday · 20/06/2018 12:33

Love both but especially fond of Cecilia

Octopeppa · 20/06/2018 13:23

It's OK but I find it slightly prim.

ShirleyWilliams · 20/06/2018 13:40

I prefer Cecilia

NCtoday06 · 20/06/2018 13:47

Cecelia is lovely.

MariaMadita · 20/06/2018 13:51

I like Celia. Cecilia is even prettier imo... Hm. I think I'll add it to our list :)

newlywedmum · 20/06/2018 14:40

I like it, reminds me immediately of Celia Imrie, whose a great actress. I also really like Cecilia but Cicely is my favourite.

Sophronia · 20/06/2018 15:18

I like Celia and Cecilia.

Jj2431 · 20/06/2018 15:21

I don't like it but Cece is cute

Stephisaur · 20/06/2018 15:21

"Cecelia, you're breaking my heart..."

Reminds me of the song.

Beautiful name though, as is Celia :)

DramaAlpaca · 20/06/2018 15:36

I don't like Celia, but I do like Cecilia and Celine.

bornonvalentines · 20/06/2018 15:38

We have a Celia Rose in our family.

123time · 20/06/2018 16:00

I think it's a lovely name, but I'm biased as it's my middle name.

starkid · 21/06/2018 13:50

I like Celia, it's less flouncy-sounding than Cecelia I think

letsallhaveanap · 21/06/2018 13:54

love both Cecilia and Celia.. and Cecily... but dislike Cecile for some reason!

Picknickers · 22/06/2018 00:07

Not my cup of tea sorry. Makes me think of Celiac disease.

sonnyboo · 22/06/2018 07:28

Lovely name!

Joeybee · 22/06/2018 07:42

I prefer Cecilia, only because Celia is a bit plain. They are nice names, very feminine.

LittleMissedTheSunshine · 22/06/2018 19:41

I know of a Cecilia whose called Cec (prounouned sess) which alway reminds me of a cess-pit.

Celia is a lovely name.

RavenWings · 23/06/2018 10:24

Celia is gorgeous. Really don't like Cecelia, it's a very frilly sounding name.
