Please could you tell me what you think of each name on our boys shortlist?

Elliott
Seth
Finley
Wilfred
Winston

We are really struggling to agree. As an aside, names that I love that husband has vetoed are Elijah, Zach and Felix.

Any other suggestions gratefully received!

Love Elliott, not keen on the others.

I like Elliott and Winston. Finley is okay but I don’t like Seth or Wilfred. I like all three names that you like though!

Love Winston. Cool and classic!

Not so keen on Winston. Seth is my favourite from your list.

Seth - hate
Finley - so chavvy. Finn is much nicer.
Wilfred - seriously? Poor kid.
Winston - just no

BUT I love Zach, Elijah and Felix. (I think you have better taste)

Elliott - it's ok but I only know one adult Elliott. It seems a small child's name
Seth - yuk
Finley - Prefer Finn. Too popular. Naughty boy name.
Wilfred - Wilf is ok
Winston - like it a lot

Zac is nice, Felix ok, Elijah a baby name.

Pick Winston!
It's by far the best. The others are all a bit meh.

I like Seth, then Wilfred and Elliott.

Thanks everyone. Elliott seems popular which is good as that's my
OH's favourite. I like it too...I just don't love it. It's so hard when you have certain names you love and others just don't come close.

Seth or Wilfred.

DH has also vetoed Felix for our baby. We're compromising on Zachary at the moment. I'm going to add Elliot(t) to the mix but i'm a bit worried about spelling. I like Wilfred and you've got Will or Fred as shortenings. Don't like any of the others sorry.

Elliott - gorgeous name. I really like it
Seth - it's my most hated name. I just cant stand it sorry
Finley - it's ok. I find it a bit wet
Wilfred - really like it and love Wilf
Winston - it's quite a big name. It's ok but not my style

We find out the sex of our baby tomorrow and if it's a boy we're 100% on Winston for ours (Winston John after dad for MN)

So I'm biased! But I also adore the name Seth, I just worry if it's rolls off the tongue enough, I find it difficult to say sometimes anyways, could just be me.

Love Elliot, Wilfred is ok, really dislike the others.

I only like Finley

Elliott- love it. Would be on our list but doesn't go with our last name. I know a teenage Elliot who is lovely and really suits his name.

Seth- This is on our list. DH and I love it but seems to be a bit 'marmite'.

Finley- Don't like it but I am biased because I work with kids and every Finley/Finn/Finlay I've come across has been very "challenging"!

Wilfred- I like it, different but not too out there. Option of shortening to Wilf, Fred or Freddie.

Winston- Not keen at all, sorry.

Elliott or seth would be my pick.

Finlay has been over used in my opinion and I arent a fan of the others

I like Elliot and Funlay. Wilfred seems very old fashioned to me. Seth is ok if it fits with your surname. I know too many dogs called Winston to like it as a child’s name!

I absolutely love Wilfred, I'm 30 weeks and want to call my son Wilfred but I keep getting laughed at when I mention it!!

Finn is the only name I like - but it’s very overused.

Winston is ok if you’re black/mixed race - but otherwise it will sound UKIP nationalistic.
