Names like Cora

Ok so this is slightly off topic from Baby Names but I thought you lovely bunch of ladies may be able to help.

I'm trying to come up with a name for my reusable menstrual product business (ie washable pads, cups, etc). I want something simple and was thinking something like "Cora" but it's already taken by a tampon company. I also like Flora, Nora and Honour but I think they aren't quite right as they are similar to other brand names. Any ideas? Ideally one or two syllables.

Flora would NOT be a good choice for anything vagina-related, imo, because it immediately makes me think of bacteria.

Possible ideas:
Coral
Cara
Ria
Poppy
Daisy
Ellie
Jilly
Millie
Minnie
Annie
Sally

Flora is already taken by another brand 🌸

Cosmoa · 15/06/2018 09:37

No ideas but let us know the final choice so I can look into the product!

What about a flower? Seems appropriate somehow - fertility etc

Lily
Petal
Blossom
Tansy
Petunia
Bluebell
Belle
Jasmine
Lilac
Lotus
Peony
Fern
Fleur

Good luck!

What do you think of EMME? Short for Emmeline Pankhurst of the suffragette movement

OP posts:
MikeUniformMike · 15/06/2018 14:18

Fanny

MikeUniformMike · 15/06/2018 14:19

Luna? Sorry, Fanny was a bit jokey.

WrideD · 15/06/2018 15:30

I think something mythical might be nice, with ties to motherhood and fertility?

Juno (mother goddess)
Freya
Gaia (ancestral mother of life)
Hera (goddess of women, marriage, family, and childbirth)

WrideD · 15/06/2018 15:32

I'm trying to think strong and fierce instead of girly and sweet.. I mean periods make you pretty strong and badass just by living through them. Honor is good though and I like the Emme idea.

Octopeppa · 15/06/2018 15:44

I wouldn't go for a human name. It means one less name that people will feel comfortable using for a baby in the future!

Emme is a nice idea though.

HeyDolly · 15/06/2018 17:33

Florence?

A more formal version of Aunty Flo Wink

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 15/06/2018 18:57

Pamela.

ErrantBakedBean · 15/06/2018 19:21

Enora is the Cornish version of Honour
Elora also nice
Clara
Nuala
I like the Juno suggestion
Lorna

SmallStepsBigChanges · 15/06/2018 20:31

Thanks for all the suggestions so far.

I like Enora and Juno.

Sadly, I don't think I can really use Honour because there is already a washable pad company called Honour Your Flow and it seems to similar. Same with Luna. There's another company called Lunapads.

Fierce on it's own could work. I also thought of Cherish but not sure...

I like Gaia or Hera.

Emme doesn’t really seem right as a business name to me. I wouldn’t put sanitary products and Emmeline Pankhurst together.

educatingarti · 15/06/2018 20:40

Strong and fierce- Boudicca?Grin

Cosmoa · 15/06/2018 20:40

I like Emme cause it reminds me of 'Femme'

MynameisJune · 15/06/2018 20:41

But Emme is pronounced eh-me and Femme is F-em spoken out loud they sound nothing alike

Susannach · 15/06/2018 20:49

Please don’t call it Juno! Confused I agree something non-namey might be best to avoid people sharing their name with a sanitary brand. I’m sure your products are great, but still!

I quite like Fierce. Some random ideas in the same vein:

Force
Dare
Sashay
Glow
Shine
Lumen
Brave
Soul

FartnissEverbeans · 15/06/2018 21:56

Fanny

Grin

Vida

2blueshoes · 16/06/2018 00:44

Sashay?? 🤔 really??

Soul 🤔

Not keen on those.

Aquamarine1029 · 17/06/2018 10:32

Rhea - Titaness and goddess of nature. Daughter of the earth goddess Gaia and the sky god Uranus, and known as “the mother of gods”.

SmallStepsBigChanges · 21/06/2018 19:42

What do you think of these names?

Lunique
Bold Moon

SmallStepsBigChanges · 16/08/2018 21:22

Ok. I'm bumping this thread again. What do you think of FiaLuna? Fia means woven and Luna obviously mean moon/lunar cycle etc.

3girlsmama · 16/08/2018 21:34

How about Selene? Greek Goddess of the moon.
