Thoughts on Barnabas

What are your thoughts on Barnabas for a boy. I originally prefered Barnaby but I know think Barnabas feels stronger. I also think Barney would be cute on a toddler.

Thoughts?

I prefer Barnaby a lot more.

Sophronia · 15/06/2018 09:19

I love it and prefer it to Barnaby.

bridgetreilly · 15/06/2018 09:21

I think it's a great name.

RedDwarves · 15/06/2018 09:30

Think they're both pretty insipid sounding.

Barnabas is like Spartacus... a bit ridiculous sounding.

Barnaby is always going to be Barnaby Joyce to me, or one step away from Barney (i.e. the purple dinosaur or the one from the Simpsons).

I grew up knowing a Barnabas who went by Barney. I knew him as a child and saw him every week. He was a youth group leader too when I was in my teens. I loved the show Barney the dinosaur but I was always mature enough to be able to separate the two! Didn't ever make fun of him for it. He's a lovely guy with a lovely name Smile

I love Barney, but I think I prefer Barnaby as the full form.

MeyYael · 15/06/2018 12:09

I went to uni with someone named Barnaba... He did have to repeat his name when meeting new people (well, usually).

Idk, I don't dislike the name Barnabas. But Barnaby is much nicer imo. :)

Mountainsoutofmolehills · 15/06/2018 12:16

brilliant name. :) Go for it. It's cute as barney, and grown up as barnabus,

2good · 15/06/2018 12:18

Neither sorry 😑 although Barnaby is slightly better. Just my opinion though, if you like it go for it

MikeUniformMike · 15/06/2018 13:39

I like it. I know a Barney (Barnabas) and a Barnaby. Both are fine. I would probably go for Barnabas, as you could still use Barnaby as a nn.

Octopeppa · 15/06/2018 16:13

I prefer Barnabus to Barnaby.

HeyDolly · 15/06/2018 17:35

I prefer Barnaby tbh.
