Starting to try for baby number 2 and adore the name Posie for a girl. We've basically had the decision made since before DS1 (Milo) was born! However when I said it to my sister today she told me it was ridiculous and was extremely judgey and stuck up about it. I thought it was a lovely name and don't see what's not to like?

Learn not to tell people in RL what your name choices may be!

One of my favourites but being a huge fan of Noel Streatfeild, I prefer the Posy spelling.

It's a very sweet name. I can imagine it more on a young girl than a woman but that doesn’t change the fact that it's not your sister's decision to make! If you do fall pregnant and it turns out to be a girl, your sis will get over it.

Love it. But please spell it Posy.

Beautiful name, personally prefer Posy spelling. Milo is a lovely name too.

Don't tell anyone your choice, and it is not your Sister's decision, she can name her own children.

Suits a kid but not so sure if an older woman could carry it off - I can't imagine some of my 20 years + friends being called a cutsie name

This is one of my favourite girl names but I was worried about the 'not serious enough for adult' thing and other people's negative comments. I also considered Primrose nn Posy.
I actually know a little 10 year old Posy and she loves her name.

Sounds a bit wishy-washy, don’t really like it.
To be fair though I don’t like names with that ‘s’ sound in- Alice, Daisy, Maisy etc.
Primrose is a good option or Persephone, could get Posy from that at a stretch!

It doesn't work on a adult IMO. How about Josephine, with Posy for short?

I love it! Would use it myself if DH agreed. I agree Posy spelling is better though.

I have a Josephine who goes by Posey. It's lovely for a little girl, especially when they're all little and pinka nd round. But even now, at only 3, she probably gets her full name half the time at home and always at nursery - it's good to have a more grown up option.

The wonderful Posy Simmonds, born in 1945, seems to manage a career, be successful etc...

Post Simmons chose the name for herself - a childhood pet name. Her real name was Rose, I think.

I named DD2 Poésie, it's fair to say I like it!
You will get opinions with any name.

Isn't Poesie a different name though? French for 'poetry'?
