It's mentioned a lot on this board. Have always loved it. What do you think when you hear the name? Not sure as as first or middle name.

Like it. Don’t know any.

isittheholidaysyet · 10/06/2018 00:19

Love it.

RedLemonade · 10/06/2018 00:19

Love it.

Bubblesoup · 10/06/2018 04:36

I like it!

daisypond · 10/06/2018 11:57

I like it...but how are you going to pronounce it? I can hear half a dozen mangled pronunciations in my head already.

GummyGoddess · 10/06/2018 12:00

We liked it but DH said X-ayvee-er and I said Zayvee-er. Could also pronounce Havee-air I guess.

MyKingdomForBrie · 10/06/2018 12:02

I’d always say it ‘zay-vee-uh’ but you will get a mix of pronunciations.

It’s on our list but DH doesn’t like it.

whoopsiedaisies · 10/06/2018 12:03

Love it! We have an 8mo Charles Xavier!

ImPreCis · 10/06/2018 12:10

Love it, was on our list for DS, now 25! Didn’t use it and really regret it, I have never met a Xavier.

Pompom42 · 10/06/2018 12:11

Like it a lot, never met one and I worked in a nursery for 9 years

Justgivemesomepeace · 10/06/2018 12:12

I went to school with someone called Xavier pronounced zav-ee-ay. I'm not sure how it's meant to be pronounced but I like the name.

Sophronia · 10/06/2018 12:15

I like it pronounced zay-vee-er.

PixelAteMe · 10/06/2018 12:20

I like it pronounced the French way, Za-vee-ay

MikeUniformMike · 10/06/2018 13:32

lovely but Ex-avier would put me off.
Isn't Havvy-er written Javier?

Rtmhwales · 10/06/2018 13:41

It’s what I’m naming my son in two months :) I’m American so the pronounciation here is Ex-Zay-Vyer (like Charles Xavier from X-men) but I also like the French pronunciation. Now I’m just stuck between Xavier James or Xavier Rhys.

LoveInTokyo · 10/06/2018 16:07

It should be pronounced Zav-ee-ay.

Zay-vee-er (to rhyme with saviour) sounds stupid IMO.

Cosmoa · 10/06/2018 16:07

Love it! We have an 8mo Charles Xavier!

Bold choice!

whoopsiedaisies · 10/06/2018 19:20

@Cosmoa - two family names and I didn't know about the X Men link until after we had chosen the name! He's Charlie, only Charles on posh days.

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 10/06/2018 19:21

Love it - DP has vetoed though

TatianaLarina · 10/06/2018 20:32

Za vee ay is great.

Zay, or worse Exay, vee er are embarrassing.
