Casimir or Ansel?

Hi everyone, we are struggling a bit between two boys names, though we know the middle name will most likely be Roland. We already have a Florian and an Aurelia.

Casimir is the french/more french (we are in France and DH is French) spelling of Kazimir, the name of a dear family member who was imprisoned in Dachau. I love the family aspect of the name (Aurelia is also a family name), but we are a bit worried that the name is a bit harsh sounding.

Ansel is simply just a name we both really like. Additionally, we love Ansel Adams' photographs.

Thoughts?

I think Casimir flows better with your other DC names.

I love Casimir, and with the family association I would go for that. I think it flows very well with Florian and Aurelia too. Beautiful names all.

While I can see the attraction of Ansel, and also love Ansel Adams' work, I always think it sounds like a Cockney pronunciation of Hansel.

Ansel- first think I thought of when I looked at it was pile cream sorry. I know it's spelt different, but that's what came to my mind.

I've never heard Casimir before, but it is lovely and goes very well with your other dc.

Not an easy name to carry. Go for Ansel
