Fabian or Fabien?

.....and how do you pronounce it?

Me and DP think we like it and it might be added to the list. If we're way off the mark with this name please do let me know

Generally speaking Fabien is French and Fabian English (both from a Latin root). So if I was English and in England I'd use Fabian. Pronounced Fay - bee - un. I'm not French so I might well pronounce Fabien incorrectly but I'd think somethign like Fab - ee - en.

I like it. I know a French Fabien, but it's more common as a name in France. There's the Fabian Society in the UK as well, which is a left-leaning association, so people may think you have political leanings that way. Fabian is pronounced as you would expect. FAY-bee-un. The French version is pronounced more like FA-bee-on.

And in German it is Fah-bee-an

I know a German Fabian who pronounces it Fah-bee-ahn.

English/Herman is the An spelling and the En is French. I prefer how it looks with the En spelling, however if you're in the UK you'll probs find the default spelling people go for is the An one. It's a nice name, not too popular but not so unusual that it's weird.

Fabian would be our preference and we would pronounce it Fay-be-an. Seems like we're not way off then

I’d go Fabian pronounced Fay-bee-an.
