Marley for boy?

What are your opinions on Marley for a boy? I love Max but my partner isn’t keen on it :((

Also starting to warm to Arthur but I’ll have no chance!

I just think of the dog sorry

I think of a dog...it's just too cutesy a name for me to take it seriously as a persons name.

It makes me think of the dog, or Bob Marley.

I know a girl called Marley but even so, I still think of the dog in the film.

Dog or Bob, but your child's peers won't necessarily make those connections.

Definitely! People need to get over the dog thing already... There are lots of names used for dogs and people. Like Poppy and Cleo for instance!

And who doesn't wanna be associated with the Marley family! We were gonna call our daughter Marley but I hate the nn Marls...

I once taught a lovely little boy called Marley. The dog thing doesn't occur to you once there is a human child in front of you with the name! I did think Bob when I first met him but then it was just his name. The children were oblivious to the connection and I am not aware of anyone mentioning the connection to a dog. It really suited him but he was sweet and about 6. Can't quite picture an adult with the name though.
