Coben?

DP likes Corbin, I like it but not keen because of the political connotations.

Also like Thorin, it's a family surname on my side but not sure about the Hobbit connections.

Same as Sophronia. Corin or Torin. Both really good names.

Thorin may well be a family name but people will assume it’s from The Hobbit and (quite possibly) judge you. Corbin and Coben are not great. Corin is a lot nicer; I taught one who was very bright and rather cool.

But my OH already preemptively vetoed it... (And I wasn't even planning on seriously suggesting it. It just sounds a bit too political in the UK. Well, currently.)

Sorry but I think you should go back to the drawing board.

Corbin=far too political plus it has “bin” as in rubbish bin. I can’t see what is attractive about this as a baby name at all.

Coben= very odd name

Thorin = hobbit

What about just “Ben” if you like Corbin/Coben

How about Thorben/Torben or Thorfinn?

Torben is awesome. It’s a Danish variant of ‘son of the bears’. I’m a big fan and it’s on my list

Wasn’t one of the actors in High School Musical called Corben/Corbin? It kind of suited him. It would make me think of him, not Jeremy!
