Not naming anyone here, this is just out of curiosity. Would you pronounce Zofia like Zawfia or Sophia with a Z? Or a different way I haven't thought of?! Cheers Smile

Sophia with a Z.

AtiaoftheJulii · 26/05/2018 23:41

I'd say it more like Zoffia than either of your two I think. Emphasis on the first syllable.

winnybella · 26/05/2018 23:51

Zoff-ya ( not eeya)

HeyDolly · 27/05/2018 08:04

Sort of Zo-phia.

AuntieStella · 27/05/2018 08:08

Zoff-ee-ya but the middle syllable would be very much elided, so it's barely there at all (pretty much what winnybella says)

SquirmOfEels · 27/05/2018 08:11

Like the capital of Bulgaria, which is Sofia (Soff-ya) but with changed first sound, so zoff-ya

BendydickCuminsnatch · 27/05/2018 08:12

I know one - pronounced Zoffia. Are you polish? Love Zosia too!

MaybeBabey · 27/05/2018 12:16

Za-feeya.

Makes me think of Zofia Kossak-Szczucka, the resistance fighter in ww2.

EllenJanethickerknickers · 27/05/2018 12:18

ZOFF eeya

RussianBluee · 27/05/2018 12:24

Sophie with Z but sofia like saw fia (zaw fia) is the italian peonounciation, no?

RussianBluee · 27/05/2018 12:25

Sophia (

Aprilmightbemynewname · 27/05/2018 12:26

Zoflora?

daisypond · 27/05/2018 12:52

Depends how you pronounce Sophia. I'd say Sof-eye-a, but people will say Sof-ee-a as well. Zoff-ya/Zoff-ia, I think I'd say.

catalinablue · 27/05/2018 14:48

Off the bat I would probably say it like Sofia with a Z (zo-fee-ya).

ellalouise90 · 27/05/2018 19:31

Sophia with a Z xxx

Conciergeandchocolate · 27/05/2018 19:35

Sophia with a Z for me too.

Joeybee · 27/05/2018 22:31

Sophia with a z
