I really like the name Santa (Spanish name) and luella... I also like Tabitha james.

I can't decide! Please don't post to be negative. Just move on.

Luella, Tabitha are quite nice, SANTA 🎅 no sorry, Spanish or not it’s ridiculous

FanSpamTastic · 26/05/2018 20:52

I knew a Santa - she was from an Indian background. It is a very lovely name. I don't think she had any issues with it.

FogCutter · 26/05/2018 20:53

Louella is a really lovely name. And quite unusual.

Santa? If you are living in the uk that's a no from me.

Tabitha is not my taste at all (sounds a bit wet and prissy to me, I prefer strong names) but I've seen it liked on threads here before.

museumum · 26/05/2018 20:55

Really not sure about Santa. Not just because of 🎅🏻 but does it not mean “saint”? I wouldn’t like to be called saint.

RavenWings · 26/05/2018 20:55

Luella is ok, maybe a bit Southern USA but fine. Could end up being nicknamed Lou or Ella so make sure you're ok with those.

Santa is ridiculous for (I'm assuming) a child in an English speaking country, assuming she's no Spanish connection (and even then).

Tabitha James I don't like - Tabitha is a bit cat/witch for me, and I'm not into James for a girl.

Is Tabitha James a girl? If so why the James?

CocoAndTheChocolates · 26/05/2018 20:58

I said to DH I loved Santa for a Christmas baby. He was HmmHmmHmmHmm it actually makes me think of beachy places like Santa Monica

Whitley83 · 26/05/2018 20:59

I knew a lady called Santa and she was sassy, intelligent and feisty, I have always loved it. I just hate all these 'samey' names and would like my child to have a name she can feel empowered by.

Likely because of one of my favourite habdbag designers and I kove8my handbags and again she's another strong woman with a strong sense for the style I follow.

Tabitha james because Tabitha is girly and bewitching matched with the masculinity of James as her middle name

Santa: I really like it. I'm actually related to someone named Santa. (She's Italian)
It is very religious (more specifically Catholic) imo (which may or may not bother you).

Tabitha is nice.

I'm not that keen on Louella, tbh. I keep seeing / hearing Fluella for some reason... (And it makes me think medication, but I honestly don't know why...)

baylisbaylis · 26/05/2018 21:00

Sorry but Santa is not a spanish name, it's a spanish word. It's means Saint, obviously, and I guarantee there isn't a single person in Spain called Santa.
Why you would want it in an English speaking country is baffling. Unless your DH is a footballer...

Bea1985 · 26/05/2018 21:01

Really like Santa actually! Sadly I think the kid would have the piss ripped out of it.Sad

Whitley83 · 26/05/2018 21:02

Luella not likely

baylisbaylis · 26/05/2018 21:02

Forgot to add, Tabitha and Luella are lovely. I don't mind James for a girl.

Whitley83 · 26/05/2018 21:04

@baylis the Santa I knew was Spanish and there is a number of people called Santa in Spain. We have Spanish and Italian family

Rainboho · 26/05/2018 21:07

Amanta?
Sanita?

LOL7 · 26/05/2018 21:08

If you live in uk/America, please DO NOT call your child Santa, it won't go down well.
The other two names are lovely though :)

MeltingSnowflake · 26/05/2018 21:08

LOVE Tabitha James (both of those are on my list for girls Grin ) - do not like Luella or Santa, sorry

EllenJanethickerknickers · 26/05/2018 21:09

I know a gorgeous Santina who is sassy and lovely of Italian extraction. Would that work?

Whitley83 · 26/05/2018 21:12

Santina is beautiful. Santina Maria x

Sophronia · 26/05/2018 21:12

I like Tabitha

baylisbaylis · 26/05/2018 21:15

I stand corrected if you know some, I'm spanish and have never met or come across one myself. I wouldn't know about Italy.
Having read your post I understand why you would choose it, but I still wouldn't understand why use it in the UK where it would make your child an easy target.

MaybeBabey · 26/05/2018 21:15

Santina is adorable.

Little saint :)

TaggieRR · 26/05/2018 21:15

I like Tabitha!

BackforGood · 26/05/2018 21:16

I wouldn't use Santa if you are living in an English speaking country. It is completely linked with Father Christmas.

I though, in Spanish it was 'Saint', which seems a bit of a title to give someone - bit hard to live up to I'd have thought.

Tabitha is not a name I particularly like, but that is only personal taste, however, I cannot understand why you'd then want to give her a boys name to go with it Confused

Of your list, Luella is the best, IMO.
