Hi our second DC is due in a few weeks. We’ve chosen two names for each sex but not sure which to make first/second name. Please help us decide!

If it’s a boy we like either:

Oliver James
James Oliver

If it’s a girl we like

Chloe Ava
Ava Chloe

Any other similar suggestions welcome. Thank you!

All are nice! Why not wait until you meet your baby, in our experience they often just don't look like one name or the other, and 2 is a short list.
Personally I like Ava more than Chloe, it's cute but also classy when she's older, but both are great 😊

Hope85 · 24/05/2018 11:33

Thank you! I think waiting might be a good idea. I think I’d be happy with any of the combinations really although Ava is my preference for a girl Smile

James Oliver = Jamie Oliver, so I'd go for Oliver James.

I like both Chloe Ava and Ava Chloe, and of the two think Ava Chloe flows better.

Sophronia · 24/05/2018 14:03

I like James and Ava best as first names.

redmini4 · 24/05/2018 16:43

James Oliver and Ava Chloe are really nice.

MinisterforCheekyFuckery · 24/05/2018 16:55

The Jamie Oliver association would put me off using James Oliver as I can't stand him. Oliver James is nice though.

I would go with Chloe as a first name purely because there are so many Ava's about. They seem to be as ubiquitous as Amelia's and Olivia's now.

bridgetreilly · 24/05/2018 19:01

Oliver James

Ava Chloe

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 24/05/2018 21:16

As namechange say James Oliver =Jamie
Oliver.
So Oliver James.

I prefer Ava to Chloe to a first name but I think Chloe Ava flows beautifully and Chloe is a very pretty name

Please help me with baby name ideas!

I have a little girl called Eliza and a son called Reuben. Expecting baby no 3 later this year and found out we're having another girl 😊 I need with name ideas please! Something unusual but not too put there that go with my other children's names.

Thanks!

KataraJean · 24/05/2018 21:23

I think Oliver James is a psychologist who writes about parenting. He used to have a column in the Observer, and somehow always used to annoy me (as I am a single, working mother, fail). So that would put me off.

Emelro · 24/05/2018 21:31

I'm new to this...think I've jumped on someone else's conversation...sorry! Have I? I clearly have no idea!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 24/05/2018 21:52

Oliver James and Chloe Ava.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 24/05/2018 21:54

@Emelro, you need to start a new thread.
I think Martha goes well with Eliza and Reuben.😄

Joeybee · 24/05/2018 21:55

Oliver James and Chloe Ava both flow better. However I actually prefer the name James to Oliver, when you meet baby you might be better able to decide what they look like more.

Baubletrouble43 · 24/05/2018 22:04

Oliver James definitely
Ava Chloe

Baubletrouble43 · 24/05/2018 22:05

Emelro your kids have lovely names. Martha is lovely . Sofia is my suggestion . Congratulations btw!

ellalouise90 · 24/05/2018 22:10

I would pick Oliver James 💙
I really love the name Ava a lot but don't know if it sounds right with the second name Chloe however Chloe is a lovely name on its own💖
How about Ava Grace , Ava Rose , Ava Francesca , Ava Lilia
Chloe Sofia , Chloe Rose , Chloe Grace , Chloe Florence , Chloe May 💖

ABitOTT · 24/05/2018 22:17

Oliver James would be my boy choice.

I like the names Ava & Chloe, but not the two names together. Probably prefer Ava with a middle name of Juliet or Marrianne?

Emelro · 24/05/2018 22:44

Thanks Baubletrouble 43...those are great names 😊

stopbeingadramallama · 24/05/2018 22:54

Please don't call your baby James Oliver.

RedDwarves · 25/05/2018 04:22

Oliver James, because James Oliver just = Jamie Oliver in my mind. And I also cannot stand him.

I prefer the name James, but Oliver is lovely too and would void any Jamie Oliver association.

Ava Chloe goes better, but I do prefer the name Chloe to Ava.
