I love the name William for our little boy and then we want middle name to be Peter (same as daddies middle name) ... Is that weird?

Because of our surname his initials would WPW, is that weird??!?!

Yeah not weird at all! I gave my DS his father's name for a middle. If you like you like. Not as bough his initials spell out WOW

I think that’s fine. I think middle names that honour people are better than just using extra names for fun.

bridgetreilly · 23/05/2018 09:20

Perfectly fine.

My DS has the same middle name as his dad and grandad. We bever thought it would be wierd. We used ot as a way to carry on a family name.

aurorie11 · 23/05/2018 10:49

I have same middle name as my mum and DD has the same as one of her two middle names

Velvetbee · 23/05/2018 10:52

All the boys on DH’s side have the same middle name so siblings, cousins, dad, uncle, grandpa... . Now that’s weird.

BPG20 · 23/05/2018 11:02

Completely normal Smile DS would have had the same middle name as DH, except we adopted DS....and his first name was already DHs middle name Grin

My husband insisted our ds had John as a middle name (like himself and HIS father). I was against it but dh got his way and my now grown-up son recently told me that if he has a son he will give him that middle name too !

DramaAlpaca · 23/05/2018 21:18

Not weird at all. One of my boys has the same middle name as his dad.

Soubriquet · 23/05/2018 21:18

Me and my sister have my mums middle name. My brother has my dads.

My daughter has my middle name and my son has his dads.

Why would WPW be any issue??

Don't really understand mumsnet obsession with initials no one in real life has ever noticed anyone in our families initials or said them aloud.

Maybe if they spelt STI or something like that Hmm

ZebraKid71 · 24/05/2018 09:00

Not weird at all. In my opinion middle names should be family names or have some significance. My great grandmother had a unisex name and all of my cousins have this name as a middle name.

PandaCat · 24/05/2018 14:02

Not weird. If we had a son he would share his father's middle name too.

user1472334322 · 24/05/2018 18:30

Ds2 shares his dad's middle name. Ds1's middle name is the same as his grandad's first name.
William Peter sounds like a good name to me. Go for it!! Congrats on your son. Boys are great fun!

WPW does sound a bit like a pro wrestling brand...
