If I have a boy thinking Nathan? Any views?

Its a nice name, though I do prefer Nathaniel. Adore the nickname Nate

InkSnail · 22/05/2018 08:42

Yes from me. It's an underused classic.

Sophronia · 22/05/2018 09:57

I like it

thatsjustmyface · 22/05/2018 10:00

Also love Nate. Nathan's a great name.

ButtonMoonPig · 22/05/2018 10:05

One of my favourites.

MammieBear · 22/05/2018 11:26

Prefer Nathaniel myself.

spiderlight · 22/05/2018 11:28

I like it. Friends have one and it really suits him.

MyFamilyAndOtherAnimals1 · 22/05/2018 11:34

Love it!

Sessy19 · 22/05/2018 11:59

My ex-husband is Nathan, he’s a cool, good looking guy (we’re still friends), and I have good connotations.

I think Nathaniel is a bit ‘couldn’t decide’ and it’s pretentious, but it’s not offensive. I might have known a complete knob called Nathaniel...

lornathewizzard · 22/05/2018 12:05

We have a Nathan so I obviously love it 😁 He’s only 22mo but he gets called Nate, Nathy and Natey (all by me haha)

lornathewizzard · 22/05/2018 12:06

I also didn’t really like Nathaniel, too posh sounding for me

DramaAlpaca · 22/05/2018 12:07

Very nice.

RoseDog · 22/05/2018 12:10

I have a 13 year old Nathan. I still love the name and the child! It's one of those names that's not too popular, he was the only nathan in his primary school and he one of only 2 in his year at high school!

MikeUniformMike · 22/05/2018 12:52

No to Nathaniel as it's a bit like Sebastian - people think it's posh but it's a bit less classy than you think.
I know a really nice chap called Nathan and so like the name for him, but I think it's a bit downmarket.

Kokeshi123 · 22/05/2018 13:30

It's a nice name.

ellalouise90 · 22/05/2018 18:22

I really like it and really love Nate for short!

bridgetreilly · 22/05/2018 21:21

I prefer Jonathan, but it's fine.

CPtart · 22/05/2018 21:39

Nathan in its entirety is ok, my nephew's name. Nate is dreadful.

buttercup54321 · 22/05/2018 21:52

Prefer Nathaniel
Jonathan
Ethan
Dathan

LoveInTokyo · 22/05/2018 22:01

It’s a nice name.

Vintagegirl77 · 22/05/2018 22:06

I do like it, but where I come from in Essex it would get shortened to Nafe.
