Is this too overdone now? Would they spend their life correcting it from Amelia?
What are other suggestions like it?

I personally don't like it - in fact, when a friend called their child it I thought they'd made the spelling up. Pick Emily or Amelia in my opinion, that being said, it is becoming popular now so I must be in the minority!

I said 'I thought it was made up'. I now know that's not the case but I do think it still looks that way.

I love Emilia, it's one of my favourite names. Much nicer than Emily or Amelia.
It is Shakespearean and has been widely used in literature for centuries.

I think it's nice. So long as you're careful about pronunciation, there's no reason it should get mixed up with Amelia.

It's great. I prefer it to both Emily and Amelia. And Emmy nn is really nice.

Emilia was always my favourite and I fought long and hard with DH, but he vetoed it. Ended up compromising with Erin. Although I must admit that Erin suits DD so much better.
Adore the name Emilia and there's that many variations of names these days now that it shouldn't cause too many problems that is isn't as common as Amelia x
