Elle, Anna, Lana or Tamsin?

My OH loves Elle but it doesn't really go with our surname so not 100% sure.

What do you think about the others? Are they a bit boring?

Anna is a beautiful name.

Gates · 09/05/2018 17:22

Lana x

SemperIdem · 09/05/2018 17:59

Lara instead of Lana? Solves the ‘anal’ problem, which to be fair, I don’t think should be ignored.

CarysMa · 09/05/2018 18:02

Anna

I like Elle and Lara but not Lana.

what about 'L' as a nick name for a name beginning with L. I fine Elle a bit blank. I prefer Ellen.

daisypond · 09/05/2018 18:38

I like Anna - classic.
Elle - meh, and slightly derogatory - "she", as if you can't be bothered with a real name.
Lana - hm, a bit Southern States/East European bland
Tamsin - OK. But I like Thomasina much more, with the nickname of Tamsin.

HeyDolly · 09/05/2018 19:45

Tamsin is my favourite from your list.

DramaAlpaca · 09/05/2018 19:47

I love Tamsin & Anna.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 09/05/2018 19:49

I like Anna and Lana

Lara?

MrsH1990 · 09/05/2018 20:21

I Love the name Lana,
Anna is my name :) good choice :P

bloomsburyer · 09/05/2018 20:29

Love Anna and Lana.

I vetoed Lana for our daughter due to the anal thing..

NovaArt3mis · 09/05/2018 20:30

I'm biased as I have an Elle and love it.
The 'boring/She in French is meaningless' opinion doesn't bother me but if it would upset you maybe stray away from it. To me, Elvis Costello's 'She' shows that the word is anything but unimaginative.

BeautyAndTheBrat · 09/05/2018 20:30

Anna

Uniglo18 · 09/05/2018 20:36

Anna

Ellieboolou27 · 09/05/2018 20:44

Anna - almost called my dd this love it.
Ellen is much nicer than Elle which is what we ended up calling dd Wink it means beautiful light

Nelly1727 · 09/05/2018 20:46

Love Anna

tigerrun · 09/05/2018 20:47

Lana, I also like Luella, Lara & Lois (big fan of the L names here!)

thetriangleisarealinstrument · 09/05/2018 20:50

Lana, Elle and Tamsin are lovely and Anna is nice but i do personally think it is a little boring... unless it could be a shortening of a longer more interesting name?

Think Tamsin is my fave out of what youve suggested.

MikeUniformMike · 09/05/2018 21:46

Tamsin, as it is more unusual. Anna is lovely, Lana is nice but makes me think Wooly, and Elle is a bit nothingy. You could have Dee, Kay and Emme and Jay too.

bridgetreilly · 09/05/2018 22:49

Anna or Tamsin.

Lana is okay. Elle is very blah.

Buntysoven · 09/05/2018 23:18

I like Tamsin but prefer Tasmin to stop the Tammy nn. Tas is cool!

RedDwarves · 10/05/2018 02:14

Love Anna, like Lana.

Also find Elle bland, and not a fan of Tamsin, which always sounds like a muddled Tasman to me.

Littlemum2be86 · 10/05/2018 08:14

Love Lana! Anna is lovely and classic as well.

Don’t love Elle and not a fan of Tamsin. Seems a bit middle-aged to me

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 10/05/2018 09:14

Anna without contest.

The other names don't even begin to measure up

blackteasplease · 10/05/2018 09:18

I like Anna or Tamsin.

gwen25 · 10/05/2018 12:40

Love Anna.
