I tend to prefer lesser used boys names so could I please have opinions on the following names:

Bastian
Emrys
Errol
Rafferty
Eustace
Angus
Samson
Ivor (pronounced I-Vore)

Also do you know any? And any suggestions of other names might like?

Kevin.
Colin.
Darren.
Gavin.

It’s actually really refreshing to hear names like Darren/Gavin (and things like Stephen or Gareth) on little ones, LovingLol -it’s really distinctive nowadays!

John and Paul.

I will second Emile, Raoul and Victor. (Whichever way you want to spell the first two.) Victor was my top boy's name choice for many years and I only didn't use it because another family member had the same name and it would have confused people.

Auguste
Numa
Claudius
Raphael (sounds slightly like Rafferty but classier and more 'proper')
Marius

I like Samson and Emrys. :) Angus, Eustace and Erroll sound like grandpa names imo, way too dated. Bastian would be nn bastard in high school by mates, an immediate no. Purely dislike Rafferty and Ivor.

What about:
Roman
Elias
Emilio
Stefan (don't hear this often!)
Lorenzo / Vincenzo (nn Enzo)
Jett
Tristan
Julius
Damian

Errol was Roland Rat's best friend wasn't he? Never met one in real life, maybe because everyone who was a kid in the 80s associates it with rodents. :)

Samson is cool but you'd better hope he doesn't turn out to be weedy looking. A bit like how Apollo (mentioned in another thread) would have to be very hot. Kind of a hostage to fortune.

I like blairsey's suggestion of Julius.
