Ivy?

Been lurking for a while, first post on Mumsnet... hi everybody!

I've recently found out I'm having a surprise baby, due mid-December Have been trying to think of appropriately festive names and really like the idea of Ivy for a little girl. I'm after something pretty and slightly old fashioned but it's just occurred to me that people's first thoughts may be of Beyonce's daughter which isn't really what I'm going for! Opinions gratefully received...

Ivy is really pretty. I wouldn't have thought of Beyonce's daughter but I don't think it's a bad connection!

I think its really lovely! Its a traditional name that has been in usage a long time so I doubt it will be associated specifically with Beyonce.

If you want other ideas for pretty, festive names, how about Natalie or Robyn?

Lovely name. Wouldn't think of Beyonce unless you also decide to add in a colour and make the child sound like a Dulux paint shade.

Ivy would be perfect for a December baby. And I don't think people would assume it had anything to do with Blue Ivy.

Ivy is a lovely name. I have no interest in Beyoncé so that wouldn't have occurred to me.

Ivy sounds lovely. My mind didn't go straight to Beyoncé but I don't think its a bad association anyway.

Ivy is such an ugly plant, I'm not sure why it's used as a name.

That being said I've a little niece called Ivy and she's somewhat changed my view on the name by having it.
