Evie for short? Are there any spelling variations? Any middle name suggestions? Surname is very common - Taylor. Thanks!

I'm not much use with middle name suggestions, but just wanted to say what a lovely name Evelyn is!

I like it but I might be biased as I have an Evie 😊. Mine is Evie Marie as Marie is a family name

Evelyn is my eldest's name and I still love it! Her middle name is Mae....my user name is a bit of a give away 😂!!

Evelyn is a lovely name. I don't know any alternative spellings. I also like Evelina. Eve, Ava, Eva and Evie were really popular a few years ago but I don't know any Evelyns.

I'm assuming you don't mind the initials being E.T.? There might also be a few middle initials to watch, such as A giving EAT as initials.

My 11 week old is called Evelyn! Lovely name isn't it? I planned to call her Evie for short but it hasn't happened, we call her the full. I think probably because DD1s name can't be shortened.

I have always loved it and it's a family name. OH didn't as much so it is her middle name instead. I dont know much about different spellings but there seems to be differences in pronunciation. EV elyn versus EEV elyn or even EVlyn. So I guess your little girl might get sick of it being mispronounced. Granted both my first and surname is always mispronounced - I have just got used to it and answer to anything that resembles it.

I have one, she is a beautiful, bright, loving young lady. A bit biased but I love it.

I have an Evelyn Rose and I love it. Be prepared for people to pronounce it different ways. Ev-Lyn and Eve-Lyn. I say and prefer the the latter but plenty of people I’ve met say the former which can mildly grate at times.

I have a 5 year old Evelyn. I love her name. My Evelyn is Evelyn Rose I often get comments about how beautiful her name is.

Evelyn is lovely. Classic, lends itself to multiple nicknames but also can sound ‘grown up’ thumbs up from me!

It's my DDs middle name, it was on the short list for first names but then realised there are two little girls on my street also named Evelyn. I think it is a beautiful name but it seems quite popular if that concerns you.

It's lovely by there are lots and lots about so depends how much you mind this ( it was in top ten last year.)

My little one is called Evelyn (ev-eh-lyn) and I love it but am gutted by it's soaring popularity. She has an unusual middle name which gives me some comfort!

It isn't so much that Evelyn is very popular (although it is on the rise) but more that it feels very ubiquitous when combined with all of the Evies (#16) and Avas (#5), plus the slightly less common Eves and Aoifes.

It is beautiful, however. The logical shortening of the usual feminine pronunciation would be Evvy but as it seems to have died a death as a boys' name 'eev-lyn' seems to be quite common now.

It’s lovely. It’s a family name for me and I’d use it if I had a daughter.

My family always say Evva-lyn but I think the Eeva-lyn pronunciation is more popular now. They’re both lovely.
