Grace, Eleanor, April or Nora?

These are our girls’ name ideas... Grace, Eleanor, April or Nora.

With proposed middle names...
Grace Elizabeth
Eleanor Grace
April Elizabeth
Nora Grace

Favourites? I’m torn between classic but quite popular and more unusual and unique...

I like Grace, Eleanor and April.

The middle names are OK but Grace and Elizabeth are popular middle names (which you might not mind, of course).

Eleanor by a million miles.
Grace has had its day.
April is very dated.
Nora is absolutely terrible!

LoveInTokyo · 01/05/2018 22:38

Grace Elizabeth or Eleanor Grace.

Raspber · 01/05/2018 22:40

love April, then Grace

JollyGiraffe · 01/05/2018 22:42

Eleanor Elizabeth

GottaFindTchange · 01/05/2018 22:44

Eleanor

Icantfindausername · 01/05/2018 22:48

My friend is Eleanor Rose and she ALWAYS gets comments about how lovely her name is! I think Eleanor is definitely the best then Grace xx

Let us know what you decide x

April Grace

Buntysoven · 01/05/2018 22:54

I personally don't get the love for Eleanor. It sounds so clunky and is usually shortened to the ever present Ellie. April is pretty though

blairsey · 01/05/2018 23:52

April Elizabeth or April Grace would be gorgeous, though only if the child is born in April. I think it's a little tacky otherwise. Next favourite would be Grace Elizabeth. In spite of its popularity I still love the name Grace, so pretty and timeless.
Not a fan of Nora, but don't mind Eleanor Grace. She will probably end up as an Ellie in school though, I had about 4 Eleanor's in my class in primary and 3 in my form at high school, all of which were nn Ellie!

April Fools day is horrible for Aprils &, somewhat unfairly, gets used as a nickname year round. Family experience here.

justabunchofbunting · 02/05/2018 00:01

Love Nora!!

raeray · 02/05/2018 00:04

Another vote for Nora here too!

Littlemum2be86 · 02/05/2018 06:31

Really like April! It’s different without being too out there.

All are lovely names though OP :)

PasstheStarmix · 02/05/2018 06:34

Hate grace it’s too ho hum for a first or middle name in my opinion unless maybe used as a second middle name like clio lavender grace for example. I love Nora

BB2018 · 02/05/2018 13:32

Brilliant, thank you all for your help and advice!

Definitely think Nora is a polarising one, so we might swerve that - a 50/50 split! But those who love it really love it!

And the point about April Fool’s day is great - I hadn’t thought of that.

I think it’ll be either Eleanor Grace or Grace Eleanor in the end - will keep you posted! Two months to go...

Eleanor

Sunshinedaze · 03/05/2018 12:26
  1. April Elizabeth ( gorgeous and unique)
  2. Grace Elizabeth ( more classic and I really love ‘ Gracie’)
  3. Eleanor Grace ( Again beautiful, Eleanor is a gorgeous name).

Sorry but Nora doesn’t hold a candle to your other stunning choices.

jollygoose · 03/05/2018 12:29

pleasedont call the poor mite Nora its so hard, Elizabeth or Eleanor lovely, Eleanor could always be Nora for short if you really like it but she would have the choice of a much more graceful name.

DrinkYourGreenTea · 03/05/2018 12:57

Nora 100%. No contest.

blinkineckmum · 03/05/2018 22:43

April

Fintress · 03/05/2018 22:46

I love the name Grace. Not keen on April.

17caterpillars1mouse · 04/05/2018 07:50

Nora Grace though I prefer Norah as it looks more complete

Norah April?
