Well that's a surprise isn't it. I like it Smile

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I agree, I like it too :)

stellinaa · 27/04/2018 11:08

Surprised, thought they wouldn't use Louis considering its one of Prince George's middle names.

WhiteHairReally · 27/04/2018 11:14

Louis for Lord Mountbatten, The D of E’s influential relative- an elegant way of acknowledging Prince Philip without using his name.
Arthur- they really liked it, but have scotched the ‘they’re so predictable, they’ll choose the bookies’ favourite and Charles.... can’t work that one out. Really left field.

Louis has never been a personal favourite but It’s an elegant combo.

chezmk1988 · 27/04/2018 11:21

Wasn't expecting Louis. Had my bets on Henry or Arthur. It's a nice name just wasn't expecting him to be Prince Louis

pipilangstrumpf · 27/04/2018 11:22

Surprised they chose a French name!

Oysterbabe · 27/04/2018 11:34

I think it's lovely.

Cosmoa · 27/04/2018 11:40

@WhiteHairReally how can you not work out Charles? It's the name of the child's Grandfather 😂

Cosmoa · 27/04/2018 11:41

Unless you were just being sarcastic...

Buxbaum · 27/04/2018 12:11

I like it.

But are there any other teachers or social workers thinking, ‘they called their child LAC?!’

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 27/04/2018 12:13

💙 Louis.

PetraRabbit · 27/04/2018 12:40

Was obvious to me.
Henry, James, Charles, Philip etc- all already in use by close family
Albert- penis piercing
Arthur- not quite a perfect fit with the very posh George and Charlotte.
Their style was a "nice" classy name that was already rising in popularity and that their friends wouldn't have already used- I bet at 35 and 36 they have close friends with an Arthur, a Henry, an Alexander etc. Louis is the typical name an upper middle class couple who already know a lot of small children and are looking for something 2018 but not too overused would go for.
Congratulations to them!

PintOfCalpol · 27/04/2018 12:59

My husband reckons they chose a French name as a hint they oppose Brexit!

I don’t love Louis as it reminds me of Louis Walsh.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 27/04/2018 13:02

Will it be pronounced Looie or Louiss? Over here you hear both with that spelling.

I like it.

Buxbaum · 27/04/2018 13:05

Lou-ee.

Sophronia · 27/04/2018 13:15

I didn’t think they’d use one of George’s middle names, and Charles is very similar to Charlotte too. Also wonder why they haven’t used Philip or any names from Kate’s family.

TegKernow · 27/04/2018 13:23

I think it's lovely. William and Kate are decidedly good at choosing names 😃

I just hope the Americans don't call him Loo-iss instead of Loo-ee.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 27/04/2018 13:24

Lovely combination.

lydiarose · 27/04/2018 13:26

I like it but I think it's a pity they are all from William's side. Also, with their third baby, I would have thought they could have broken tradition and gone for something a little different, like princess Anne did with Zara.
