What do you think of the name Adriana? Any associations? Would it be easy to pronounce? What kind of a child do you imagine when you hear the name? Just any thoughts really, please :)

I like it and it doesn't conjure up a set image either, so I think it's good for a child to grow into. Be warned though - you will get people saying both Aye-driana and Ah-driana

Ohyesiam · 25/04/2018 14:35

Frilly but pretty

Snog · 25/04/2018 14:39

Sopranos

17caterpillars1mouse · 25/04/2018 15:02

It makes me think of the deluded rich girl on some mtv show. The hills maybe?

I'd pronounce it A-dree-ah-na

I prefer Adrienne

AnyaMoondial · 25/04/2018 15:52

Sopranos for me too. Also sounds like the feminine version of Adrian to me.

Mollie85 · 25/04/2018 16:11

Although pronounced and spelt completely differently, it makes me think of drains....

Although that is clearly me

WakeUpSlow · 25/04/2018 16:19

My friend who is Spanish has a beautiful little girl called Adriana. I think it's a strong feminine name.

LoveInTokyo · 25/04/2018 16:30

Add-ree-ah-na for me.

I like it.

SquidgyMcPidgy · 25/04/2018 16:39

Thank you for your comments! Crazily enough I've never seen the Sopranos and didn't even know there was an Adriana there (not that it would stop me from using the name, but I hope she was an alright character!)
Pronunciation for me would also be Add-ree-ah-na as I'm European and this is how it's pronounced where I'm from.
Would be great to hear a few more opinions, thanks again!

I haven’t seen the Sopranos so it has absolutely no associations for me. The Sopranos is quite old now so a lot of people won’t have seen it.

I think it’s a pretty name without being too flowery, and unusual without being too weird.

FawnDrench · 25/04/2018 16:45

I prefer Adrienne.
Or Ariana.

It seems like a mix of the two of these to me.

SweetheartNeckline · 25/04/2018 16:47

My childhood best friend was Adrianna, nn Anna. It suited her. She had a simple, middle-namey middle name (think Jane, Rose, Lynn) for balance.

She was very attractive but alternative, she would not have suited a flowery name. It's a long name but not fussy and beautiful without being prissy imo.

StarlaMack · 25/04/2018 17:49

I don't really like Adrian and it reminds me of that

Imfinehowareyou · 25/04/2018 17:53

Came on to say sopranos! It wasn't Adriana on MTV's The Hills - it was Audrina.

MrsMarigold · 25/04/2018 17:57

I've known two, both gorgeous and glamourous.

youngnomore · 25/04/2018 18:00

I know two as well. One European one American (who actually had a different name but changed it to Adraina when she became 18). It’s a lovely name.

RebelRogue · 25/04/2018 18:30

It's a real name and it's pretty. I had a few classmates growing up with this name(not in the uk). You will have to tell most people how to pronounce it though.

penguinsandpanda · 25/04/2018 18:34

I like it and it makes me think of the sea, the Adriatic sea.

GatsbysGirl · 25/04/2018 18:39

How about Andrina? It's the name of one of Ariel's sisters in the little mermaid.
Or Alexandrinda - Queen Victoria's birth name?

AmazingPostVoices · 25/04/2018 18:42

Lovely

purlandvick · 25/04/2018 18:49

Lovely name , it won't date . The chance are that she won't be in school with lots sharing her name.

kokolokoko · 25/04/2018 18:59

Reminds me of the drug addict/psycho/pop star on 90210 but not many people will associate that so I think it's pretty otherwise

KerplunkChampion · 25/04/2018 19:11

Adriana
Briana
Nigella
Colina
Keitha

redfairy · 25/04/2018 19:26

I would love to be an Adriana. Sounds very sophisticated to me.

DramaAlpaca · 25/04/2018 21:05

It's nice. A bit frilly for me, but nice.
