I’ve never heard this name before! (Friend’s daughter is thinking of it.)

Do you know any Alton’s?

Towers

BigGreenOlives · 23/04/2018 12:12

Town in Hampshire

allthoseyears · 23/04/2018 12:14

Oh I never even thought of Alton Towers! Now I’ll never get that out of my head.

I thought she’d meant Elton at first, but no, definitely Alton.

I've heard of Alden, could that be it?

stellinaa · 23/04/2018 12:16

Towers came straight to mind.. sorry. At least if living in the UK, it would be cruel to name your child Alton imo.

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 23/04/2018 12:18

Towers, sorry!

allthoseyears · 23/04/2018 12:20

Not Alden as I asked her to spell it because I though she was saying Elton in a funny way lol!

Yes, living in the UK. I shall mention the Towers thing, perhaps it hasn’t occurred to them either!

I know a Dalton but he's a boy!!

Aprilmightbemynewname · 23/04/2018 12:22

How risqué is your friend? Maybe she conceived at Alton Towers!!

wizzywig · 23/04/2018 12:22

april its not timothy dalton is it?

allthoseyears · 23/04/2018 12:27

Oh sorry, it is for a boy! When I said “friend’s daughter” I meant she is pregnant, having a boy!

Sorry for confusion

I instantly thought towers too I’m afraid. Let’s hope he isn’t tall...

Aprilmightbemynewname · 23/04/2018 12:32

Ha no, a lass I know vaguely has ds's called Easten and Dalton.

allthoseyears · 23/04/2018 12:33

At least their surname isn’t Towers!

I can’t believe I didn’t think of that 😬 but I’ve never been so it’s not familiar to me.

Towers was my first thought too. Closely followed by the town.

HeyDolly · 23/04/2018 12:37

Towers was my immediate thought.

Whynotnowbaby · 23/04/2018 12:44

I have taught an Alton in the past so she isn’t the first to ever come up with the name. I don’t love it but you get used to names after a while so it doesn’t sound like an odd name to me!
