Ezra

So we both liked Elliot while pregnant with our son Elijah but didn’t choose it now we are having baby number 2 I don’t want him to be called Elliot as it has the same meaning as Elijah. My DH doesn’t like any other names I have suggested and I love Ezra at the minute. Is it stupid to have both children with the same meaning names? I was thinking of suggesting Ezra straight after birth to see if he caves but unsure this will work 😂

I do think Elijah and Elliot are too similar. I prefer Ezra.

Get your dh to go research names and make suggestions, it's not good enough for him to just veto all your suggestions.

The whole two names having the same meaning thing wouldn't bother me, I doubt that many people would know that about the names. However I think Elijah and Elliott are a bit too similar sounding.

I like Ezra, wouldn't use it if your dh hates it though (and we come back to the "he needs to make suggestions" point again).

Elliot derives from Elijah, so would only be a side step from them having the same name. However even if this wasn't the case, they are too similar.

People will get confused, just thinking of a relative with four boys all names beginning with the same letter. All the names you suggest are beautiful but imagine will get them muddled up in later years.

I know of two sets of brothers called Elijah and Ezra! (but personally think they are t oo similar, same with elliot).
