Lily or Summer

Which one & why? Thanks

Summer. It's pretty but strong sounding.

To me they are very different.

Lily is more classic, whereas Summer is more modern. Lily sounds more English, Summer sounds more American. Lily is vastly more popular at the moment, if that bothers you.

Much prefer Lily, strongly dislike Summer

I like both but Lily is my favourite. I'm personally not that keen on names that are also words ( phrases like summer's day or summer of love etc would annoy me).

Both lovely names, but I vote Summer. It's fresh sounding whereas I think we've had "peak Lily" now.

It's more modern than Lily and not as overused.

I love them both, but Summer if you want a rarer name

I like Lily, but there's a lot of them around, and Summer is a lovely name. I don't normally like too hippyish names, but if I was calling a child Summer I'd be deeply tempted to go with something like Ocean or Skye as the middle name.

Summer. More unusual, good for this time of year (may be weird if a Nov birthday!). I know one and always liked it. Know lots of Lilys.
